Patio Furniture...with poll
We have a nice size back yard and would like to add one of those gazebos (those tent things) but what kind of furniture would you put? Table and chairs or a sofa kind of setting. I don't want to do both but I think I am leaning towards the sofa kind made it like a lounge feel.
Any Pros Cons??

If you plan on entertaining a lot, I'd go with the table as it's more functional. But if not, then the sofa for comfort reasons.

Could you get a table with a sofa instead of two of the chairs and more comfy looking chairs for the other ones so you have the best of both worlds? Check out costco - they have a lot of options.

If you already have tables & chairs, then I would put a sofa under the gazebo and make it a more relaxed, comfy type of seating area.

It depends.... (my standard answer... )
What type of entertaining do you usually do? Do you eat a lot outside, or mainly just lounge?
We don't lounge outside very much, so for us it was an easy choice. When we're in the backyard, most of the time it's to eat, so we got the table and chairs.

I like the sofa and chairs - assuming that won't be your only seating area outside.
But if you don't have a table and chairs for dining outside already -- like on a patio or deck -- and you don't plan to get one, then I think you should put a dining table and chairs there. You will definitely want that for entertaining, or even if you just enjoy eating outside in warm weather.
I don't have a gazebo, but I have a table (with an umbrella) and chairs on the deck off my kitchen, and then on the patio off of my den, I have a sofa, two chairs, and a coffee table.
If you could do both, I would do it so that you could eat a meal outside at your dining table, but your gazebo could be more for lounging, having drinks, etc.

Re: Patio Furniture...with poll
i put one of those outdoor sofa and chair sets underneathe and put our patio dining set elsewhere (not under it) but this year we are going to switch and put the dining set under it and put our sofa and chairs in our screened in porch.
i voted sofa set because if you dont have a screened in porch (obviously i know most people dont)...then the sofa is nice under there plus with all the cushions, you dont have to take them out every time it rains, only in real downpours, you might want to

Our sofa set is under our gazebo. Our table and chairs came with an umbrella so that's in another part of the backyard.
