Question for the EBF moms who feed on demand
If you have plans that will prohibit you from nursing, do you try to plan the rest of that day's feedings around it so the timing will work out? My husband and I are going to a wedding tomorrow, to which the kids were not invited. I EBF my 3 month old, and have always believed in feeding on demand. He.nurses 5 times each day, anywhere from 3-5 hours between feedings and sleeps through the night. I have to the church by 1:45 and will come back home after, as there is a break between the ceremony and reception. I'd love to work it out so that I can nurse him for as many of his feedings as possible. I'm trying to figure out if I should kind of keep him on a schedule (which would be in the range if his normal demands anyway) for tomorrow so that I can make sure I will be able to nurse him when I need to and maybe he will only need one bottle or so. What do you ladies do?

I use to try and work it out so DD would get the least amount of bottle necessary. However, what it came down to, is that I always left enough BF in bottles that if she needed to eat, there was enough for her YKWIM?

I would try to time the nursing so that I was nursing right before I leave for the ceremony. Even if it isn't quite time yet for baby to eat, he might still nurse anyways (so that way you are kind of 'topping him off' before you leave). Same thing for before you go to the reception.
I also would leave 1 or 2 bottles, just in case.
It sucks that you can't take your ds with you... he is ebf and only 3 months. I would probably have tried to see if I could take him with me, but I don't know if it is too last minute to do that now. If you need to leave the reception a little early then you do what you gotta do... people that don't have kids or haven't ebf don't really understand how much the mom really does have to be with the baby, and it isn't always as easy as just leaving a bottle for them.
