Newborn days and nights mixed up

How do you change this? I'm nursing and she always seems to doze off while feeding.

Re: Newborn days and nights mixed up

You kind of have to wait it out.

The best you can do is never let them miss a daytime feeding - don't let them go more than 3 hours, I did 2.5 hours.

During nighttime feedings, keep the light minimal, don't talk, try to even avoid eye contact. Baby will learn that Mom is boring at night she he/she might as well sleep!

They figure it out, but it takes time -and i t succckkkks in the beginning, but i get better.

As long as she is gaining weight, dont wake her at night for feedings, let her wake up herself. During the day keep up with feeding her every three hours. During nightime feedings try not to make a big production with lights and talking. Keep it as basic and quick as possible. Good luck!
