Bottles for newborn...please help!

Our newborn loves the similac bottles we recieved from the hospital....we have been trying to switch him to regular bottles and he doesn't take to any! (tommy tippee, platex we tried) Has anyone else had this issue? Please recommend your bottle.... i don't know if it may also be the formula? the bottles from the hospital seems to be thicker than the similac powder we mix...please help!

You answered your own question...its the formula. Its not the bottles. DD#1 transitioned so easy. DD#2 2 months later we are still on ready to feed. Its crazy$$$ but its what we have to do. Ready to feed is much thicker then the powder. I called the similac hotline to ask and they told me its the same. Ive seen these posts on here a million times, sorry to similac but there is no way that its the same consistency.

Thanks! The only reason why i don't think its the formula is because we also tried putting the mixed formula in the ready to feed similac bottles and he drank the whole thing .... I know they are $$$, I guess we will keep trying or maybe try a different formula

So you think its the nipple? Maybe your other bottles have a faster nipple attached?

Re: Bottles for newborn...please help!

DD used the similac advance nursettes from the hospital and then when those ran out, we used the RTF Similac advance in the dr. Brown bottles with level 1 nipples and she transitioned quite well

I'm not familiar with the similac nursette bottles but i believe the nipple on it is the latex one (yellowish/orange)...maybe try that type of nipple on your bottle...

That was going to be my suggestion too. Try buying latex nipples for your bottles instead of the clear silicone ones. My DD refused bottles for a month until I tried a latex nipple.

Re: Bottles for newborn...please help!

i switched from the RTF nursettes to dr. browns bottles without an issue. i still sometimes use the nursettes when i'm out (granted she drinks three of them but so much easier than dealing with a bottle imo Chat Icon )

Yep, we also have babies who liked the hospital bottles.

We are using the Similac nipples on the playtex ventaire bottles.

Also still using RTF.

Re: Bottles for newborn...please help!

We found a Playtex nipple that is small like the Hospital Bottles. They're at BRU

They're the:

Playtex 2 Pack VentAire Advanced Silicone Nipples - Stage 1 (0-3M)
