If I want to get a LEAP PAD am I out of luck
We didnt' want to do the whole Black Friday thing b/c we were out of town visiting family. Now it looks like it's sold out everywhere.

I think it will come back..Look for some sales the 2nd week in Dec. (Dec7-15)... I heard that stores have some good sales too..

it sounds silly, but just keep trying stores. they are trickling in. Just before thanksgiving I just happened to call Barnes and Noble in Carle Place and they had just gotten one in. I put it on hold and went right after work.

I'm picking one up in Barnes and Noble tomorrow. Had it put on hold. Call several places and ask them to hold one for you at the register so you know they have it and will not be sold out! Good luck.

Barnes and Noble will hold for 3 days... just keep calling around, i'm sure they will get more in before xmas. DON'T buy one from people selling them for $180+, that's ridiculous. If anything, get it after xmas when the hype is over.

B&N sells them for $110 in the store, FYI. Keep calling around to stores and see if someone can get you the inside scoop on when they'll be available.

ITA! I was on the fence about whether or not to buy it for DS for Christmas but I decided to buy it for him for his birthday.
ETA: His birthday is in February so I figure by that time there will be no issue getting one and I should be able to use a coupon somewhere.

I was insisting that I wouldn't get one since my two older boys already had a DS, Leap Explorer and Kindle Fire. But I changed my mind and made it a mission to get one. At least the games from the Explorer can be used in the Leap Pad.
I was able to order one this morning from the LeapFrog site. I was only able to order the ultimate bundle for $199.00 but it includes a case, 2 games (ones we don't already have), $20 download card and rechargeable batteries. To me it is worth since I have little time to shop with three boys.
Try signing up for alerts from Zoo Alert or NowInStock.net. This is how I was able to get one. Good luck!

Yes but they usually have coupons... I got mine for 40% off last week! I think there was a 30% off this weekend, not sure if it's expired yet and they have coupons often that don't exclude it.

That's why I am waiting for May for DD3's birthday. She won't know that she might have had it earlier and I refuse to rush around from store to store to see if they might have it.
