Cool or Warm Mist Humidifier?
Which is preferred and why? Not sure what to get!

My ped always said cool when it's cold and warm when it's warm.
I can't remember his reasoning, but it's what I have stuck by.

I use a warm mist when my DD is sick, regardless of season. My ped actually said either works well so since we had the warm mist I just stuck with that.

My ped said to use a cool mist humidifier. I believe the reason why the cool is recommended over the warm is that the warm is more susceptible to germ growth.

Exactly!! Plus you have to be very careful with the warm mist humidifiers as the steam gets really hot and can be dangerous if a small child gets too close to it.

I've heard both are good, but we went with the cool mist. I read that once your LO is mobile, they could burn themselves if they touch it. Also, some say the warm mist breeds more bacteria, etc.

Same...my mom who's a ped says cool mist humidifier
If I ever want to do warm, I'll sit in the bathroom with her (door closed) with the shower on (not in the shower though) hot to get some steam
