I am torn between Cord Blood Registry and Viacord. Just looking to see what you ladies did, and any comments you may have on either companies

We used Viacord for our dc and have been very happy with them. Our sales rep beforehand was very helpful, the process itself (pickup, etc) was easy and we haven't had any issues since. I recommend them to people all the time

We banked with CBR because we were able to get a better deal than viacord. I am very happy with CBR.

we used Maze- they are based in Westchester- they were the most reasonable of everything we looked at and I loved that they are based in NY
everything went really smoothly with the whole process- would highly recommend them

I was originally with CBR, but after talking to my gyno, i switched to Viacord and was very happy with my decision!

Me too. I actually had my DS 3 weeks early and had just worked out all the details and signed up that week. My rep Brad was amazing. We called him from the LIRR on our way home from work bc we were headed for the hospital and he took care of everything! Made sure Mercy had a kit and told me if they didn't, they'd have one messengered from South Nassau. Took all my info over the phone and credit card. He just made it sooooo easy. Given that I was induced due to very high BP and that we were literally just told to go to the hospital ASAP, Brad and CBR making everything so easy really helped. We were already so stressed. Brad called a few days later to tell me the number of cells they got. Everything was flawless. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

Ditto. Plus for us, the rep from CBR was sooo much more helpful than the one I spoke with at Viacord. I went with my gut on it b/c I got a better vibe from CBR. Viacord is more popular though.

I used viacord. My OB said that both viacord and CBR are reputable, and he'd go with whichever cost less... at the time viacord had a $300 off coupon, so that's what I did.

Cbr and viacord are the 2 big companies and ob said either are good. We went with cbr.
I will say, as a mother of a recent cancer diagnosis, i can't tell you how happy I am to have banked it. We probably wont need it, but if chemotherapy doesn't work the stem cells are an option. I can't tell you how much guilt I have over this, but if we didn't bank it, the guilt would have been multiplied.
