New to LIF
I am new to this board but I am so scared right now. I had my 20 week sono and It came up that the baby has clubfeet. I searched on the Internet and it is freaking me out. Does anyone know first hand how bad this is or is this one of those things that can be fixed and the child lead a normal life. I am imbarresed and do not want to even talk to my family this is upsetting me so much

Welcome and congratulations!
My sister's nephew (her DH's sister's child) had a club foot. He is perfectly fine now...no lasting complications at all. It's one of those things take can be fixed rather easily.

I was born with sever club foot-doctors didn't even think I was going to ever walk normally-I had casts on my legs till I was one and had to sleep with special shoes and a bar attached to my crib but I am 100% fine now-never one complication. I was a ballet dancer for many years too.

My father was born with Clubbed feet. He was in casts I believe for a few months. Well, years later he is a marathon runner and runs everyday. He is 100% fine.

Thank you to everyone. I feel devistated and embarrassed almost like I was at fault. I do not want to speak to family or friends yet so I feel I can ask for help here I am not ready to speak to them yet. I have an appointment with a specialist on Tuesday. And my poor husband is taking the backlash of everything I am so thankful to have him in my life.

a friend of mine's child was born with a club foot, and she's now 3 and is doing well. she also had to sleep with special shoes and a bar. it was hard for her (mom) at first, but she was able to manage. I think once you see that adorable face, your embarrassment will be gone.
