if it meant leaving your DC w/your parent(s)?

Just curious if you would OR if you have and if it went ok?

Re: Would you go away for a week w/your DH

I personally couldn't do it at this stage right now (my son is 15 months). I was away for 2 nights a few weeks ago and it nearly killed me how much I missed him! I know if we did go away for a week and left him with my mom or IL's, everything would be great. He loves them and is so comfortable with them and they take great care of him. But I would miss him too much Chat Icon

I couldn't but I might be overly obsessed with being with my DS. I cannot be apart from him at all, we are always together. I probably should take some time away, lol. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I would. As long as I know she is in good hands. I don't know how long I could go for maybe a week.

No, I would feel like I've placed a big burden on my parents by doing so.

yes I would. As long as I knew she was in good hands, I would not have a problem leaving her to spend good quality time with my husband.

What if they were fine w/it, almost insisted upon it? And your DC was in daycare for part of the time too.

Re: Would you go away for a week w/your DH

We are going away for 5 days next month. DS will be 6 mos. We are splitting the days btw the grandparents. They are counting down the days! For me and DH it will be bittersweet. I know I will be sooo sad but we really need this before I go back to work. It is a couples resort so it will help a bit not seeing any babies or kids

Re: Would you go away for a week w/your DH

In the past 5 years we've been away twice. Once for 3 days (DS was 5 months) and 7 days DS was 14months. My MIL watched him both times. We haven't been away since the other two were born.

YUP!! me and dh just did it!! and loved every minute of it. we spent a week at an adult's only all-inclusive in Mexcio and it was wonderful to reconnet as just the 2 of us again. yes we missed DD, but we weren't sad or worried at all. DH's sister came to our house and stayed there with DD. Dh's sister is a nanny so i had no worries what so ever. i think as long your 120% comfortable with the person or people your leaving DC with then i say go for it!! Chat Icon

Re: Would you go away for a week w/your DH

No, but I'd do a night or two. DS is old enough now (almost 2) that he'd be really upset not having us there, and it wouldn't be worth it to me (he doesn't sleep over other places, so this would be totally foreign for him, and heartbreaking I think).

Re: Would you go away for a week w/your DH

no bc I'm anal about her schedule and I know that either my parents or his wouldn't adhere to it and it would make my life hell after we get back getting her back into her routine, which would just wipe the nice relaxing vacation awayChat Icon

Re: Would you go away for a week w/your DH

I trust my parents 100% and would leave him w/them for a week if I could mentally handle it, but unfortunately I can't. Right now I could maybe do a two or three nights, but I think that's it.

If you're comfortable with it, then I say do it! If they're offering & DD is in daycare a good chunk of the time anyway (so they'll get a break) then I'd take the opportunity while you still have it Chat Icon
