not a chance. I mean i've watched enough people change a tire in my life - but i would never attempt it myself! i wouldn't trust my work enough to drive on a tire i put on

Yup, I totally! My dad taught me when I was younger. I can change my own oil too!

Absolutely not.
I have that roadside assistance thing through my insurance company.
If that roadside assistance for SOME reason isn't available then I have a 225 pound back-up plan: his name is Vinny

no, and i can't even call DH since he is not a handy or car person at all... last time i ran into a nail i drove to my sister's house for my BIL to help me!!

In theory, I know how to do it but the last time I had a flat I just called roadside assistance. I also am entitled to roadside assistance through my insurance company so if they didn't show up I would have called them. I dont think I would even be able to remove the lugnuts on my own anyway even if I tried.

No....the only thing I know how to do in my car is turn on the engine, open the trunk, open the glovebox, and turn on the radio.
This sums my skills up perfectly! That's why I've got AAA!

yes, and i actually had to do it once all by myself on the BQE one morning on my way to school..
now i have free roadside assistance with my new suv so i don't think i would do it by myself again

Yes, I can. It's simple. It can also be strenuous, especially if the lug nuts are on very tight and it's very cold outside.
Even if you have triple-A, which I do, it's still important that a driver know how to use a jack and lug wrench.
If I'm lucky I'll happen to have my company-issued impact gun in the car so that I can just zip the nuts off quickly.

No way.
Thankfully DH is practically a mechanic and can not only change a tire, but can change a transmission, change brakes, and also does shocks and struts!
I married well!

Yes.
My dad worked with cars his whole life and these were all things he taught me how to do. I can change a flat, put/check oil in the car, put/check antifreeze, and jump start a car. These things really came in handy when I had a really cr@ppy car during college . I'm definitely no expert, but I can most likely manage if necessary. And DH is great with cars so thankfully, he can take care of most of this stuff

I can change a tire, replace my radiator, my t-stat, a few radiator hoses, my MAF and a few other specific parts.

I have AAA as well but sometimes the wait is super long and I know I can change a flat in 20 minutes. Much better than waiting an hour or more for someone to come.
Don't remember who taught me, but I have changed tires a number of times.

a cousin
and so on lol
DH just had to change my tire b/c I had a flat (that I drove home on - but that should go on Relationships, LOL!) and even if I knew how. . .I don't think that I physically COULD.

Yes - I can remember my dad taking me out right after I got my license. He made me pump my own gas and learn how to change a tire.

The first time I went to get gas, I had my permit and my dad was with me... I hit the curb at the station and popped the tire. My dad said, "I guess now is a good time to teach you how to change a tire!"
I've had to do it myself several times, no big deal, jsut a bit of a PITA. just follow the directions in your owner manual, and its' not too hard to figure out. (But i always freak out the car is gonna fall and hit me  )
