Does anyone else hate stainless steel as much as me
OMG, I hate my stainless steel appliances. I love the look of them, but keeping them clean is driving me  With two small kids, cooking constantly and the fact that I am a SAHM and home all day, the appliances are constantly dirty. I don't think I ever want SS appliances again.
And I won't even start the vent on the dark cabinets....same issue there. Vent over! Thank you!!!!

I feel you! i have a dark wood floor, two kids and a dog. UGH! AND, i don't have distilled water for my steamer, I am using purified, and there are streaks all over the darn floors!
the appliances drive me bonkers too!!

what do you use to clean them? do NOT use wipes, use liquid. wipes leaves the worst streaks

WORST thing ever with 2 kids!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know if it's the type of ss but our KitchenAid architect series show everything. I've been through 3 cleaners so far and most of them leave a greasy residue that makes it even worse....

Are you using the wipes? I don't like the wipes. I use Wieman's ss cleaner and polisher in the spray can. Not greasy at all.

I have the same appliances, and have no issues with streaks and mine are always clean looking, i use the kitchenaid brand stainless steel cleaner, i also do not have 2 kids, and don't use the kitchen much

Mine are hardly dirty but I don't have kids. I got these great stainless steel wipes at ace hardware - when they do get a little smudgy it makes them look brand new again...

Yea with 2 kids I am constantly using my kitchen to prepare 3 meals and snacks for them all day long.
I have the Weimans SS cleaner/polish -- it's streaky on our fridge but works great on our outdoor grill. My fridge is close to a exterior french door that glares on it. So I get to see every little streak and print in the sunlight  I really regret not doing a cabinet paneled fridge. What do you apply your cleaners with?? microfiber cloths?? paper towel?? I think I am getting these next....

I just use a plain cotton kitchen towel to clean/buff. Do you think it could be build-up from the other cleaners? Have you tried washing them down with warm water and mild soap? Let them dry completely before applying the cleaner/polish. If it makes you feel any better, the front of my ss dishwasher is dull now and doesn't look as good as the other ss appliances, no matter how much a polish it. I guess the heat caused this.

i really can't wait until its no longer the it thing or must have. i find that it works very well in modern kitchens but for the average kitchen or one who is more vintage it makes it look so cold. Also finger marks/smudges is eh.

I found that plain old fantastic (not with bleach) actually does a great job. My mom cleaned my appliances with it. It worked better than my normal ss cleaner

Me too ! I do not have all appliances stainless (thankfully) and the ones I have, eh can not stand !!!! Regret getting
I have found a little bit of Pledge does work though. Spray on towel not direct.

my problem with my stainless is water marks...
i use shelia shine - works great - but nothing i try (even the shelia shine) gets the water marks off...
it have streaks on my dishwasher from water that will NOT come off - does anyone know how to get it off? it's almost like the water stained the finish?

I don't ahve stainless (I rent) but I have family that has stainless and they always complain about it and say they wish they went with white appliances instead. Same thing as you - love the look, but have a very hard time cleaning them and not ahving them look streaky and weird.

Love this! I have no problem cleaning them. I use a ss cleaner then I spray with WD40 and they look great for about 15 minutes.

if you don't want to use the cleaner I found a great green household item that wokrs awesome and actually keeps them finger print free for a week +
clean the SS with any standard cleaner (I use method) then take any oil you have (olive oil, veg oil etc) preferably the cheapest stuff. dab a bit on a paper towel and start wipping it all over the SS let it sit 1-2 mins. go back with a clean paper towel and rub it all in again (but not off) this removes the excess but still leaves it a tiny bit slick to prevent future finger prints. the best part is its safe for kids and pets!!
