anyone else completely shocked by their BFP? how long did it take for it to sink in?

As you know, I was newly off the pill and got my BFP on cd56. I really thought I was having an anovulatory cycle and even had a standing appt for January with my OBGYN to get a prescription for provera. We considered ourselves TTC, but especially after the first 35 days or so we assumed we had no shot and did whatever we felt like ( violating every suggested TTC method for increasing your chances in the process). I also convinced myself it would take us a long time to conceive. It's not like I knew AF was late, or had lots of symptoms and thought I had a shot!

Well... needless to say we were SHOCKED yesterday when I got a BFP. It felt a little real after I confirmed with a digital but I don't really have any symptoms except peeing often, and don't feel pregnant.

How long did it take it to sink in?

I was shocked when I got a BFP. I had no symptoms and thought I was out. It took awhile for it to kick in. It will eventually sink in.

Yes, we were shocked. Took until about 9 weeks to really sink in and I think that was only b/c I had a spotting episode that freaked me out. Otherwise I might still be not fully convinced (even after multiple sonos)! Chat Icon

It still hasn't sunk in for me totally. I know I am, but I don't think it will hit me until I go for my first sono.

It took one shot so to speak. It was the first month of us just seeing what happens.

I'm almost 15 wks and I'm still feeling the "there's no way I'm actually preggo" moments.

When I saw those 2 lines, it seemed like there was NO possible way it could be true. Chat Icon

I don't think I'll ever fully get over the shock!

We were TTC for 10 months and I still was shocked, literally shaking when I got my BFP. Now at 17w3d, I still frequently have moments where I can't quite believe it is real.

We had just started trying that month and got a BFP. I actually took the test when my DH was at work because I wanted to prove to myself I wasn't pregnant and get some sleep. I was shocked 21 weeks later, I'm still in a bit of shock, ha. I think that after 7 weeks it wore of a bit and I started to believe it.

This may sound ridiclous, but I'm about 14DPO, due for AF this weekend, I got my BFP on Monday morning and the lines showed up in a flash, same thing happened when I re tested last night, I'm going for a Beta? tomorrow morning but I'm so scared! Like I keep questioning it, I read WAY too much about these chemical pregnancies and I freak myself out, I'm 26 with no reason to question but man do I ever! I can't wait to get over the hurdle or the 1st tri. can you sticky dust yourself and anyone else awaiting the hurdle? LOL

I still can't believe I'm pregnant. I thought it would take a while to get a bfp. I figured it would happen late 2010 or 2011. I'm about 30 wks and it still hasn't fully sunk in. Lol

haha I'm 34 weeks and I'm still getting used to the idea. We definitely weren't TTC and I was so busy at work I didn't even realize AF didn't come for two months... Maybe next month when the baby finally arrives, it'll sink in...

Re: anyone else completely shocked by their BFP? how long did it take for it to sink in?

Yes I was completely shocked. I thought it would take a lot longer than it did. We were only trying for 2 months; 2nd month I got my bfp. I was in shock for quite a while and it didn't seem real until the first sono.

I'm almost 22 weeks pregnant now and still at times I'm shocked! It's so surreal. But at the same time I worry constantly.
