How do you organize your recipes??

I have so many recipes that I've torn our of magazines, recipes that I've printed off the computer and some that people have given me.

I had started to put them in page protectors in a binder, but is there any better way???

Do you keep all of your cooking magazines or do you just tear out the recipes you like and than toss it??

Re: How do you organize your recipes??

I have binders and sort the recipes according to main ingredient.
My absolute favorites and the ones I tend to repeat are in a drawer in my kitchen.

Between all the clippings and all the books, I could probably cook a new meal every day for the next 50 years without repeating anything !

i tried to do the page protector thing too... but once they went in there i never bothered to look for them. i started just putting them in a basket.

i was thinking of starting to scan them and saving them in an organized way on the computer. then i can print it when i have to and throw it out when i get it all dirty on the counter Chat Icon

In a very large binder with plastic clear page protectors. I divided the binder into sections-appetizers, soup, salad, side dishes, poultry, meat, fish, dessert, breakfast. I add recipes often, but also remember to edit the album once in a while to avoid overload

Re: How do you organize your recipes??

I write out the ones people give me in a recipe book - one that came with the blank recipe cards. Ones I find online - i have a word document of them. It is not that organized. LOL. its sorted by course. Thats it.

Re: How do you organize your recipes??

I have a cookbook that's sorted by course with a folder separating each section. I stick the loose recipes that I've collected in those folders.

I have a recipe box and I buy cute recipe cards and write down all my recipes, even ones that I print off the web get re-written. I like the look and feel of my recipe cards, and hopefully can pass them on someday.

I love this!

I love looking at my grandma's old recipe cards with her handwriting - even the messy, dirty ones.

Same here but I have a few binders. One for meats, one for vegetarian, one for apps/soups/sides and one for desserts.
