Awhile ago there was a thread where a girl had painted...
I remember a thread about a girl who had a friend or DH's friend paint a dining room maybe and the bottom half of the room was down with stripes, but instead of different colors, the paint was maybe tan and eggshell and the next stripe was tan and shiny. It looked awesome!!!! Does anyone remember this??

I don't remember that post but we did that in our LR - same color paint, diff finishes. We went with matte and high gloss finish.

I love this, and can think of a few places in my new home which is in dire need of repainting (not sure if it would work in a small room like a half bath, but would love it in the master bedroom). If I were to try it myself, I'd love to know exactly how to do this. We are stressing over the price of a painter, DH will kill me if he knew I wanted the painter to do something "fancy". If anyone has tips, please share...
