Preserving your wedding dress?

My wedding dress has been sitting in a bag in my house for almost 2 years now! I have no idea where to go to get it cleaned and boxed. I'm in the Lindenhurst and Mineola area daily. Can you guys recommend places around there to bring my wedding dress to? And what exactly do they do to it? Thanks!

Re: Preserving your wedding dress?

Hi!

I actually brought my gown back to the store I brought it from, Helen's Bridal in Commack.

They clean it, then place it all nice and pretty in a box. I included my veil and headpiece as well.

It came in a nice box that when you open it, there is a window and you can see the bodice of the gown.

It was a little pricey, but they did a beautiful job.

You can also check out your local cleaners as well.

Good luck!

Re: Preserving your wedding dress?

i still havent taken my dress to get presreved, i want to but i am torn... part of me wants to keep my dress all beautiful for ever and i can look at it any time i want.
..... or i saw this thing where you can use the material from your dress to make your kids christening outfits, i really really like this idea but it means destroying my dress....

That's my Bridal Store. Can you tell me how much you paid> I was thinking of going back to them since they were so good to me!!! My dress has been sitting in my garment bag for almost 1 1.2 years. That dress is so beautiful I don't want it to spoil!
