i never watch it either it was just on 4 after Law and Order and I didn't change it.
He opened by addressing the shuffle and said (paraphrasing)
Conan O'Brien is understandably upset. He issued a press release yesterday and said that NBC only gave him 7 months to establish himself. Only 7 months, how'd he swing that deal, we only got 4!"

my feel is why should conan have to be penalized since jay's show didn't do well in raitings. if they want to put jay back on late night, they should give him another time slot

I agree but I dont think Conan is doing that hot in the ratings department either. The whole situation is a big mess, wouldnt want to be the execs in charge of this mess at NBC!! Someone is defi getting fired over this!

after watching it I think he was referring to the fact NBC only gave his new show 4 months vs Conan being on for 7 months. I didn't feel like he was specifically bagging on Conan. Just my take on it.

That's what it sounded like to me as well, from reading the comment.
I seem to be in the minority, but I've always liked Leno (even though i don't tune in at 10:00...I rarely watched the Tonight Show either), and have never been a huge Conan fan. Either way, I don't think it is right to move The Tonight Show to midnight.
