Feeling down Sort of long

So far I have been so good about not letting all of this get to me. I've had 2 failed iui's and without ivf coverage we were really hoping they would work. I had my third iui 10 days ago (tested today bfn) and I know AF is coming, they put me on progestrone yesterday which hasn't been fun, and I feel like I'm putting myself through it for nothing.

How do you ladies do it? I hate the 2ww and the failure kills me. All we want to is to have a baby but it seems like it is so far away for us.

I'm not saying I'm giving up because I don't want to. I just wish something would break here and we would start getting some good news.

All you who got BCP's this December, Congrats! It has been so inspirational to see you ladies get pg.

Good Luck to everyone Chat Icon
Sorry for being a downer today.

Try to stay positive. I was so depressed after my third IUI and I felt as if AF was definitely coming.... several hours later, I got my BFP. So, you never know. Stay positive and, in case this time around doesn't work, you can always try a 4th IUI before considering IVF. In the event that IUI #3 didn't work, DH & I had said we would try a 4th IUI before moving ontyo IVF.

I wish you lots of luck!

this whole process stinks and I am still trying to figure out how to get by.

It's good that you are not giving up and pushing on. you have to just try and take it one day at a time.

I'm sorry. Let yourself feel this though, I think it's okay for us to deal with this however we want to deal, laugh, scream, cry, distract....it's a difficult, horrible process that none of us would wish on anyone, but we know the bigger picture...keep that picture in your mind and heart. I'm in my 2ww right now, I'm trying to block it out to not get my hopes up. Last time I went nuts during that time, already wanted to buy baby clothes, this time it's about keeping it together. Good luck to you and we're here if you need us.

Re: Feeling down Sort of long

Knowing that you and I are in the same situation, i completely understand where you are coming from! I felt the same exact way my last cycle especially when they put me on progesterone. You need to stay focused and positive! It WILL happen when the time is right. I know its really not an easy thing to do but you've gotten this far and i think you are doing really well!

I'm here if you ever want to talk!

Well you never know. 10dpo is still early and when I was pregnant with my son I had major AF symptoms and I ended up being pregnant!

That being said, if it doesn't work, hang in there. Something will eventually click and you will get pregnant. IUI's only have a 20% chance or something like that to work so eventually it will probably work, it just might take a bunch of tries.

Re: Feeling down Sort of long

Thanks everyone for all your support. It really helps to remember there are others out there who can relate. Dh and I have decided to do one more round of iui with injectables this time. We are also going to put off buying our first home so we can pay for one try at IVF. I just hope the new years bring us all some good news and lots of BFP!

Happy Holidays everyone and Good Luck!

I'm so sorry. I know how low you can feel but this cycle isn't over for you yet. Chat Icon Chat Icon

When I was doing IUIs, I tried not to think any further than the cycle I was in. It was the best way I could handle it mentally. After each failed cycle I would just think about what what our next option was and how I could make it happen.

Do you have unlimited IUIs? If so, could you ask your RE about changing the protocol or drugs the next time?

Good luck. You're not out yet Chat Icon Chat Icon

We do have unlimited iui's, my dr is afraid to do injectables but said he would let me do one cycle because I have pcos. We are going to try one more iui which will make it 4 in total, which I think we gave them a good shot. I'm hoping IVF or even the next iui will work for us. Thanks Again!
