stopped acne meds.....NOT HAPPY....

I know it sounds vain, and maybe I am, but there HAS to be others on here feeling the same way!

Can't use anything on my face and won't be able to for a long time.
Guess I'm just looking for some hugs, it really gets to me...Chat Icon

So do I! It's the worst! There are two topical meds that are safe for use during pregnancy (according to my OB and my derm) - they are called Finacea and Azelex (same meds, but Azelex is stronger and a little more drying). I would ask about them, they have been a godsend for me!

How funny that my new derm just wrote me a script for Finacea!!! Hopefully it works, but he told me when I get a BFP that he might have me stop taking it. I actually have two derms so I will see what the other says as well....hopefully it starts working soon....how long did it take for you?
It's not even the cysts, it's the scarring it leaves behind....my skin scars terribly and took forever to correct from my first pregnancy.
Now that I know what I am in for it makes me stress more....Chat Icon

I liked the Finacea when I wasn't pregnant but found that when I was I needed something stronger, so I started using the Azelex. It's 20% as opposed to 15%, that's all. It took a good 4-6 weeks before I saw a difference but it's incredible. I used it all throughout my pregnancy with DS and I'm still using it now that I am pregnant again. I don't have scarring issues luckily, but I looked like the before pics on those Pro-Active commercials, that's how bad it was Chat Icon
