Did most of you get a termite inspection?
After you are in contract did you guys get a termite inspection. I know it's optional, just want to know if most of you got one?

we did not.
the sellers signed some kind of form that said they never had a problem w/ termites.
then after we moved in, we learned that our town has a problem w/ termites and our house (45 yrs old) had never been treated. so we got terminix in and somehow, there was not obvious damage anywhere in the house. we got a contract w/ them and the house is now treated. (especially since many of our neighbors have had termite problems)

With FHA, we were required to.
IMO it's well-worth the piece of mind. It cost about $75.

We are getting one. Termites are a big problem on LI so unless you are in a place where they arent an issue then Id say get one.

Our inspector is licensed to check for termites too (not all are) so it was included in our price, but if it weren't, we still would have gotten one. You need it on LI - termites are a big problem.

wow I didnt realize. Can anyone recommend someone? I alerady had an engineer come in...but he didnt' specifically check for termites.
