Help - Planning Cocktail Party for 500 in NYC
I’m trying to price out options for a 2 hour cocktail reception for approximately 500 guests in NYC, preferable close to MSG. This is for work, so I know the price tag will be big, but I can’t seem to find too many viable locations for a party this large that aren’t hotel ballrooms. Any suggestions for restaurants or clubs where we could rent out the whole thing, or something along those lines? Have you been to a great event somewhere with this many people?

DH's company has had their holiday party here. It's very nice.
ETA -- My firm has rented out the Hard Rock Cafe before and also a room at the Met. I'm trying to think where our other parties were but I am drawing a blank...

Thanks for the suggestions! Gotham Hall is on my list, it looks lovely. I just checked Top of the Rock and it says it only holds 300 reception style--too bad, that would be awesome!
I will look into the Hard Rock and the Met as well.
Any other suggestions or places you've had huge corporate parties?

I think it's the Manhattan Building or something like that? It's right down the street on 34th between 8th and 9th.

I can't think of the name- maybe someone else can
we had the macy's corporate christmas party there- so it was huge
it was an old bank - right around there- we walked from penn plaze
ETA- Gothan Hall...
it was nice and big

Ciprianis was the place I was trying to think of! My firm had a large reception there. I believe it would hold 500 people comfortably, if I am remembering correctly.

You could do the Musuem of Natural History- They rent out rooms for cocktail parties
parties are amazing there.
