When to call RE?

I am 34 (next month), have a 16 month old who it took 3 months to conceive. We have been trying for 5 months this time with no success. How much longer do I wait before I look for a little assistance?

ETA: my husband is 37.

Re: When to call RE?

We are both 35 and have been trying for #2 for 11 months. This past month was our first month on Clomid (in the 2WW right now). My OB said to do 3 rounds(total) of clomid and then go to an RE after that.

Re: When to call RE?

I am 34 and have been TTC #2 for 10 mos. I started seeing RE after my 2nd chemical. It took 1 mos of not really trying to conceive DS. I think at our age it would be good to get the opinion of an RE after 6 mos but maybe your OB could tell you for sure. Good luck!

Re: When to call RE?

My DR. thought I was probably going to her a little early around 5 months, but she did the test anyway. Seems that I am ovulating but after a SA we found that DH's numbers are low. We are working with a fertility Dr now to see what our next step is. I'm also waiting to get AF because I have to go for an HSG test.

Re: When to call RE?

I was TTC for about 6 months (using OPKs, keeping track of my cycles, etc.) when I had my annual exam with my ob-gyn. She suggested that if I didn't get PG that cycle, that we start testing - CD3 bloodwork, SA, etc. Based on my bloodwork and sonogram, I decided to go see an RE. I saw an RE after about 8 months - I was 28 at the time.

Re: When to call RE?

After 6 months of TTC I went for CD3 bloodwork and DH went for SA. Well, it turns out DH motility is very low so we are going to see a specialist now.
