SLR camera owners (nikon or other)...recommend a lense

I have the ones that I bought when I first got my Nikon D80; I think they are 18-55 and 55-200.

But I HATE that I have to change lenses. If I wanted to invest in a decent all-in-one, what would you recommend?

TIA!!!!!

You could check out the Tamron Model B003. it covers 18 - 270 and is marketed as the ultimate all in one zoom.

While I haven't used this model my other Tamrons are superb. The older models are good for both the N60 35mm and my D70. The newer models are DX so just for digital use.

The Nikon 18-200mm VR is a GREAT lens.

I could not afford it right now so I have the 18-135mm. It's not a VR and you would not want anything higher than 135 without a VR.

I have the Tamron 18-270 and love it. It's got the vibration control feature which is great. It's a nice, versatile lense with a good range from wide angle to zoom. Not too large or heavy so it's good for carrying around.

I agree with Sophie. If you can afford the 18-200 VR, get that, although it is a heavy lens, it's perfect for all around. I got it for Christmas this year!

If your budget is tighter, definitely go with the 18-135mm. I think that's a perfect range.

18-200 is a great lens, even if you have to get a 3rd party lens...I have the Tamron also and I love it!

Nikkor 18-200

I borrowed this lens from my friend when I went to the Inauguration in January b/c I didn't want to swap out and I almost didn't give it back to him. It's fabulous.
