Another TMI personal breastfeeding question...

Or maybe I should say "post breastfeeding" since it's been quite a while. I exclusively nursed Kyle till he was almost 6 months old-had a waay oversupply-always leaked. Well anyhoo-here it is over a year later and sometimes my husband will say I occasionally still have some milk leak out of a breast during the deed, and sometimes after a hot shower if I squeeze one i'll notice leaking (mostly my leftChat Icon ). Is this normal after such a period? I was meaning to ask my ob/gyn at my annual yesterday but completely forgot-I could always give a call...

I had that happen to me to for quite some time. It wasnt alot where I would leak, but I noticed it when I got out of the shower. I dont think its anything to worry about as it did finally stop for me, however, you also dont want to get clogged ducts and end up with a fever and mastitis. That hurts! I noticed the less stimulation, the faster it cleared up.

This is normal. I do mammos and have had patients who havent breastfed in years tell me they have milk still. Its not a ton of milk but some. Yours may just take longer to dry up or you may just have. Ive also have had patients tell me they have and never breastfed. As long as its not blood, or foul smelling liquid your okay.

Thats normal b/c of the nipple stimulation from both.

I know about this actually, because I asked my breast doctor last time I went for a check up. What happens is that your milk ducts don't ever really stop working, they are always producing something, either a clear oily liquid, or a milky white oily liquid. This could happen for the rest of your life, the discharge can range from clear, to white, to green or brown. Nasty. But I had no idea about this, and I did ask. Some women have more discharge than others.

So its completely normal!
