Very Sad...

http://www.silive.com/search/index.ssf?/base/news/1142777794324460.xml&coll=1

I hope the link works.

I'm not a regular poster but I felt this was an eye opener for every parent. This really hit home for me since I knew the family.

Please make sure your furniture is secure and tv is mounted properly, especially if you have toddlers running around.

Re: Very Sad...

I just received this email...

This is what the mother wrote to her son…..

Kelly Damiano - March 23rd, 2006 at 3:40pm
To my sweetest baby boy, from the moment they let me hold you I knew you were different. I remember finally bringing you home and feeling the warmth you brought me and I vowed to always take care of you and love you. I knew that I needed you more than you needed me and I beg of you now, to please give me the strength to be able to breathe and love again. I know your brother needs me but I’m just so broken right now and I don’t know how to do it without you every morning. No matter how bad of a day I looked at your face and knew why I was here. You did things for me in your short 2 years of life that I could never imagine receiving in an entire lifetime. I only lived for you and your brutta, now teach me how to live again for him. I would never forget that feeling of waiting and finally being able to hold you. I waited 3 weeks just to hold you and now I cannot forget the feeling of when you left me, you truly were apart of me. I was consumed by you and truly in love with you and I want to hold you again. I would give anything just to have two seconds back. That’s all I need. You were always a special angel and I always told everyone that you were different and everyone always told me, of course, I felt that way because I was your mother but I always knew in my heart you were different. You gave me two years of life, all my fears and problems went away when I was with you. I loved seeing you and your brother laugh and play. I even laughed inside when you guys fought because you were always so cute. You knew you had momma. You could do or say anything and all you had to do was give me the eyes and you got it all. Now I need my butterfly kisses. You always held up your hand to me and said, “perfect match momma,” and I always told you, “that’s right baby, me and you,” don’t ever break the chain. I know I always needed you more than you needed me, I beg of you to fill my heart again. I’m so lost and empty. I’m overwhelmed with the guilt that I should’ve done more. Please help me. I need you to get me through this. I know I can’t forget about your brother’s happiness. Its just that the pain inside me goes so deep. Momma was always able to fix everything but I can’t do this alone. Come to me like the angel I always knew you to be. I will always fight for you like you did to be here with me. I will make sure no one else will ever feel the pain that I feel. You’re my sweet boy and will always be. Words could never describe how I feel towards you. I felt you come into this world and then I felt you leave. I knew you were leaving me and hated that feeling because I couldn’t stop it. You have touched so many people in your short life with your humor, your smile, always taking care of everyone else. Please don’t stop. I need you more than ever. My heart will always yearn for you. Give me the strength in knowing that you’re flying with all the beautiful angels. You loved happy birthdays now everyday belongs to you, my love. Please come to me, I beg you to help me breathe now. Your brother is hurting. I know he is. He’s so tough but he misses his best friend. You two were always double the trouble, but I never cared. When I heard you talk to each other and laugh together my heart always smiled. I love you my sweet baby boy. Now sleep, play, fly, you can do anything you want, my heart and soul will always belong to you - please know that. I never told you this but daddy wanted your name to be Dylan and I said no it has to be Christopher because I wanted you to have Christ in your name and now I feel that I gave you away. We picked your final resting place by the pond. You always loved the water. I always said if you could be a fish you would. You always loved the ducks and they’ll be there to. I love you baby and I’m so sorry. I wish there was more I could’ve done for you, I begged. I would’ve done anything for you not to have boo-boos. Please take care of us now. You’re forever my love. With all my love to you always, your momma. I love you baby please know that.

It's so heartbreaking...they are selling their house because the mother kelly can't go back there. I just don't know what I would do.

Re: Very Sad...

This happened to my daughter very recently. I was putting laundry away in the bedroom and she was playing with the videos in the TV stand. I went to turn around and she tried to climb up the TV stand. The entire thing smashed down on her...a 60lb 19" TV crashed down on her head/chest. I freaked out and ran to her but she wasn't moving or crying. I thought she was dead. When my husband and I threw the TV off of her, she was bleeding from the mouth/nose. Thank God we are literally minutes from the hospital. We raced there in the middle of the blizzard. She was breathing but very sedate. They instantly took her in, ran tests, etc. She was fineChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon No broken anything but she split her lip and cut her nose. She had bruises everywhere. Since then, she won't go anywhere near the TV sets but we've secured EVERYTHING we can because things can happen in a split second that can alter the entire future.

I'm so glad she's OK. That is so frightening. I always think of that when Andrew is in our bedroom b/c we have a TV stand and it's not anchored in any way, nor is the TV.
