Family Leave Act
If anyone here is from NJ, I know there is a new part to the FLA. You are able to get 6 weeks paid. Does anyone know if you have to take all of your sick days before you take the pay?

It's not under the FLA and employers do need to hold jobs open while on paid family leave. Paid family leave in NJ is part of the temporary disability program and it does not go into effect until 7/1/09. Employers can require employees to use up to 2 weeks of any paid sick, vacation or other paid time off in connection with a period of paid family leave.

i don't live in NJ but i was on FMLA when my DH was sick a few years ago. my HR department used up all of my vacation, sick and personal time to pay me for the time i was off. when i went back to work i had no vacation time left and was pretty pi$$ed about that. i got a HUGE check while i was home, i was not aware that all my time was going to be used either. i was never told this
