new & worried

Hi! I guess you can say I'm new to this site... I mean I have been hanging around reading posts for about 2 weeks. But I finally just signed up. Mostly because I feel like I'm losing my mind and no one understand me.
I'm about 7w1d..last week I went to the ER because I was spotting (brown & pink) and cramping really really bad. They did a sonogram and said they could see the sac but it was too early for the heartbeat. I went to the doctor the next day and they said the same thing. And my next apt isn't till the 23rd...two weeks! I'm really worried that the baby isn't growing or something is wrong and everyone is saying to just relax. But how am I suppose to relax? That sounds so stupid to me. My husband is driving me crazy and doesn't understand that yes.. one minute I'm crying and the next I'm yelling and after that all I want is a hug. I'm one of those grils who has a hard time opening up to other women and only has one friend who lives out of state..so here I am...

**called my doctor and i'm going in tomorrow for a sono and bloodwork.
feel a lot better tomorrow i'll know whats going on rather than having to wait 2 weeks.. thank you for the support...**

let me tell you - you have FOUND the right place...

we ALL understand the hormones, the rationale, the fear, the wonder...

For the time being - you are okay..you have had spotting, but got it checked out. As long as the spotting is not accompanied by HORRIBLE cramps, you should be fine. MANY women spot throughout the pregnancy, i in fact, had 3 issues of spotting...

welcome to the boards and congrats on your pregnancy.... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It also may be a good idea to get your husband a book about pregnancy...and what HE can expect. A great read for me personally was "Belly Laughs" by Jenny McCarthy...and at the end, there was this 4 or 5 page thing for you to copy and hand to your husband....all about things to DO and NOT do... I have that on the fridge for my husband, Dave...

Thank you... I'm excited about finally being able to participate in some discussions. I'm gonna have to go to the book store and get something for him as well!

If you are really concerned you can try and bump your appointment up to next week since you are spotting brown and pink . By 8 weeks there should be a heartbeat and tell them that you are worried since you have brown and pink blood .

I hate when people tell me to relax like when I spotted for one day ( it was fine) it is the most annoying thing to say to a pregnant woman because it is only natural to worry about every little thing Chat Icon

Re: new & worried

I was suppose to go next week..but my doctor is away that whole week and I wanted my husband to meet her for our "first" appointment. I'm seriously thinking about seeing one of the other doctors in the office.. There is no way I can wait 2 weeks..

if that will help you feel better, then DO IT. Peace of mind is priceless.....call and change that appointment...

If you are with an OB who has multiple doctors, you will eventually have to meet with all of them at some point anyways (most practices require it).

I'm sorry you are going through this, of course is very difficult to relax until you hear that everything looks and is developing fine, and these next two weeks must be a torture to wait.

Hope everything develops well and in the meantime you can talk here to make the wait less difficult.

Good Luck and feel better!Chat Icon

Congrats! You definately aren't alone! We all at one point or another have gone from screaming to crying and back to screaming again and hte DH's aren't always tthe best at understanding exactly what we are going thruChat Icon Chat Icon

I am not a Dr. but I would say if the Dr tells you not to worry about it TRY(and I know thats VERY hard) to relax and keep positive. We are all here for you if you need ANYTHING! Is it possible you could call your Dr. and express your anxiety...they may be able to get you in sooner to see the Dr.! HTH!!! Remember we are here if you need us...no one can relate better then other preggos with crazy hormones Chat Icon
