This is where Nikolas is sleeping right now. Chat Icon

I used the bouncer when he was first born..that was his bed. I don't see anything wrong with it. Just stock up on batteries.

My DD ONLY slept in the swing for the first 4 months. She transitioned to the crib fine after that. I just gradually decreased the speed of the swing and then eventually I didn't even turn the swing on. I was going to transition her sooner, but then she started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks so I was afraid to mess with it! Chat Icon

First..congrats on the newborn! Whatever works do it. I've been trying to transition 6 week old DD into her crib...not happening. She only wants the swing. Shes napping in it right now after 1/2 hour battle trying to get in there.
I talked to my mom all stressed about it and she said..
worry about today..not tomorrow
She is so right.

I wanted to do this but my dr said no to the swing or car seat. I was suprised b.c so many people use it. But she said no to me when I asked so I have to go by what she says.

My pediatrician told me not to use a swaddle. My theory is...they arent the ones listening to the crying in my house. I do what works...I will swaddle her until shes 10 if it makes her sleep through the night Chat Icon

DD napped in the swing for weeks in the beginning. and the only place shed sleep was in the infant carrier/car seat - Id put it on the nightstand next to my bed :) Chat Icon

Re: Anyone else use the swing as the "bed"

I believe in Do whatever works for you and DC.. Your baby being comfotable and getting rest is the most important thing. DD slept in the swing on and off the first couple weeks. After that, she even slept in her bouncy seat every now and then...we did whatever made DD comfortable and whereever she fell asleep. I see no harm in that.

DS slept in the swimg a lot as an infant. I would just make sure you are rotating his head or using a noggin nest since it can develop a slant. It can also cause neck issues.

DS ONLY slept in the swing for the first couple weeks of his life. DD actually hated it and wouldn't sleep anywhere, so definitely take what you can get Chat Icon !

Re: Anyone else use the swing as the "bed"

we used the Papasan Swing from like 4 weeks till almost 7 months old. He slept like a dream in it ( he had reflux) ...ahh the good old days.

Nope, my Dr said not a problem AT ALL. but suggested we switch to the crib way earlier then we actually did ( by 4 months ish)

ETA- saw Summer's response and wanted to add we did use a Noggins nest....

Re: Anyone else use the swing as the "bed"

congrats on your baby! maybe I should give our swing a try at night time, he is not a good sleeper at night, 5 hours was his longest stretch and that was 1 time Chat Icon he naps in his bouncer seat during the day and I see nothing wrong with letting your baby sleep where they fall asleep no matter where it may be
