I know it's just an old camera...
and I have a brand new one to use, but I am going to miss my old D70. I haven't figured out my new camera as much as I like, but I had to get rid of my old one before I revert back to using it.
I do find it amusing that I've only learned last month how I've been blurring the background of photos all these years.
It's going to a great home and will take great photos of an adorable little girl, but sigh...in a sense that was my baby too. What memories I have! I know you guys thought I only took pictures of your kids with it!
I bought the camera in May 2004 & here are the first few months of photos I took from it. Look at how young my kids are! Maddie was just turning a year and Joseph was 3.As my avatar says, it goes fast. Pay attention!
Long live my D70 in its new home!

I can't begin to imagine how hard it must be to let it go - I've had mine almost 3 years and I'm still learning how to use it. I'm glad to hear you've adjusted to the new one, we're waiting to see pictures from that one 
(I think a lens from me will be meeting your old camera very soon  - if I put 2 and 2 together)

You didnt want to keep it as a back up?
Im getting a new camera soon..but I plan on keeping my D60.
Ive only had it since June but I dont think I could ever part with...

Yes, the two shall meet! I have to say as I was packing up all of the accessories, I was thinking "if she didn't buy Trish's lens, I'd probably ask her to reconsider"
I know I have no use for it now and it's going to a very good home but boy did it serve me well!

Nope, no back-up necessary. This really is a hobby for me. If I really needed a camera I can borrow one from my mom.
Joseph is disappointed though. When I opened the new one from Santa, his first words were "I get your old camera!"

Audrey is quite the chatterbox. Thanks for remembering my MIL, it's been a lil over a year now. :(
I'm doing well, been busy with my papercrafting hobby, lol.

See Barb, its not just an *old* camera. Its what you began your hobby with, its the camera that first photographed your kids with. Its what you used to take photos of all of OUR kids. Its what helped inspire *ME* to go forward with my business. I remember taking pics of my kids with that camera at my house!!!
Its more than a camera - its a memory and a piece of history in your life.

Barb - those pictures brought tears to my eyes - the one of Joseph and Maddie in bed - they look so teeny. It does go so fast. 
Can't wait to see what you can do with your new camera!
ETA: How the heck do you make the backgrounds blurry? I can't believe you were doing that all those years and didn't know how!

Adding on to Lori's post, if it wasn't for Barb coming to my house to take Maternity pics (when I was PG with Lauren) and letting me sample with her camera, Dan would never have even given the expense a thought. I am happy to say Barb inspired Dan to go forth and get me my SLR back in early 06... now I wish she could work her magic on getting Dan to get the new big screen tv

When I went to colleg my minor was fine arts..I always loved photography, but as an art. Ive always taken pretty good pics even with a disposable camera...But I put it away for along time. Since having Caden a lot of things have come full circle for me..Photography is one of them. I dont think I'll do more than as a hobby either...
I just am so attached to this little black box....

Love ya  I'm guessing if Dan was interested in football, he'd be more likely to get a bigger, HD tv. For now, watching HGTV is the only thing he is interested in

It will have a great home and will be taken well care of. D70 will live on and help capture so many memories for my DH and I to cherish. You can come and visit whenever you would like or I can give you visitation rights .
