Ugh, making tea in the office...
I really want to get up and make myself a cup of tea, but I know if I do, I will have to make a cup of tea for all six of us in my pod....
I only want a little single cup of tea, and I am so busy I don't have time to make everyone a cup of tea, and etiquette says that if I want one for myself, I have to make one for everyone.
What a conundrum. Whats the etiquette in your workplace?

same here...
Same here. And forget coffee. We have 3 coffee canisters with a big note that says if you finish the coffee make a new batch. No one wants to be the one to finish the coffee so they'll leave a spit amount because to them it's considered they didnt really finish the coffee.

Ditto! I would fall over in a faint if someone actually got a drink for me. I was 9 months pregnant and hauling my @ss all over the campus and no one offered to do jack to help.

It's SUCH a British thing to have to make tea for everyone! I used to HATE this at my old job - there were 10 of us in the team and you'd have to make a cup for everyone! Plus, what the English do to their teacups is unspeakable! and I could never refill one without washing it out - it skeeved me out! - so I ended up not only making them tea, but washing their mugs also!
It's much more every man for themselves at my new office! It's great!

OK, now you've got me curious... what on earth do they do to their teacups?!
Racheeee, maybe you can bring someone along with you to help you with the tea, that way you get tea but you also get back to your desk and work quicker.
Tea sounds so amazing right now... mmmmmm

In my office you want a cup of anyhting you have to make it yourself, no one really makes it for anyone else, except of the secretaries they will make it for their bosses.
If you really want get out of havignot make everyone tea everytime you make yourself one, why don't you try making the tea but not so great(KWIM), then next time no one will want you to make them a cup of tea sicne they will remmebr the last ime you make bad tea. I know I'm evil.

Bingo! But now they say, "Can you get me..." and they always think it's my treat. I now stop on the way in to work and have taken to hiding my coffee in one of my drawers again.

This worked for me!!!!
I used to come in first and make the morning pot of coffee until one day I decided I had had enough!!!!!!!!!! I made the most awful pot of coffee ever. Now they REFUSE to let me make it!! Sure, they harass me about how horrible my coffee was that day but it's always right before I get up and enjoy a cup from the pot THEY MADE THAT MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!
