What do you think of this? RE: telling people
I have several friends that I just don't speak to on the phone regularly. Actually, come to think of it-- even with my close friends, it's more about email than the phone. After working all day, most people just prefer to be home, and not on the phone-- including me.
And, I have this weird thing about calling people that I don't normally talk on the phone with-- I even hate to order food.
ANYWAY, is it SO impersonal to tell people I am pregnant on email? I am not talking like a mass email.

We got an email once that had a link to a youtube video of them actually telling everyone they were pregnant -- it was super cute!
We've also gotten an email that had a link to the people's blog where is told us they were pregnant but also explained the two years IF issues they had to -- that was really wonderful to read

If it's someone you regularly communicate with via email, I see nothing wrong with it.
I did this for one of my friends OOS. We never talk on the phone. Actually, when she got pg first, she emailed me. I thought nothing of it b/c it seemed normal since this is how we communicate.

that;s way too high maintenance for me..
This is really just for one or two people that I keep in touch with, but don't really call up and chat with anymore.

I told a lot of people by email. Like you, I kind of hate talking on the phone. I waited to tell my folks in person, and I told my close friends that I see regularly by phone or in person..mostly because they find my email ways annoying generally (it's a spoken joke among us) so I figured I'd make telling them a little special. Everyone else I told by email.

I am anxious to just be open about it-- and these two screen names things is really annoying!
I am 13 weeks on Sat-- so, what am I waiting for.

I think it's fine. I'm not a big phone person. I called some friends and others I told via e-mail. The ones I told via e-mail are the ones I mainly catch up with over e-mail.

Fisher Price has an e-card that announces the pregnancy. It's very cute and I used it to tell my friends that I don't see regularly.

Same- we posted a pic of Grace wearing her I am going to be a big sister t-shirt. We even told my parents this way as a surprise.

A lot of friends and family found out about this pregnancy from my Facebook page. Not one of them mentioned to me that they were bothered by it

I told some people by e-mail. DH and I are very fortunate in that we have a pretty large list of people that we consider friends. It would have been impossible to call everyone, especially because the pregnancy made me very tired. I explained the fatigue in the e-mail and everyone understood.
