if BF, how many bottles are you washing ahead of time?
i'm going to try breast feeding. if it works out, great. if not, then on to bottles.
since i know i won't be pumping or anything for at least a month if i BF, how many bottles should i have washed and ready to go just in case? 2, 4??
do you just throw them in the dishwasher?

I have 3 bottles to use. I am breastfeeding my son. I will say that the actual breastfeeding of the baby is ok as long as they are latching properly and your milk is flowing properly. My DS is like a little aligator. So in order to let my little cows (boobs) heal I have decided to pump the milk and feed him from the bottle, this way I know exactly how much he has had and am sure that he has had enough. Good luck with the BFing, I did my last DS for 15 months, with this one I am not sure, he doesnt have teeth and already he is killing me. We'll see how it goes. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't wash any beforehand. I had to pump for 2 days to help with engorgement. At that time I sterilized my pump parts and stored the milk in Medela storage bags in my freezer. The pump came with 4 bottles so I sterilized them too. The directions said to boil for 10 minutes so it was easy. I then stopped pumping and have not used bottles or the pump since then. When  is 3 or 4 weeks old, I will pump once a day and let DH feed once a day with the pumped breastmilk in a bottle.

I only have 6 bottles as of right now because I don't know how my BF'ing/pumping plan is going to go. Once she's born I plan on sterilizing all the bottles provided she takes to the bottles well and I am able to successfully pump milk into them.

Honestly...you know I didn't BF..however I would wash a few ahead of time...if you supplement at all you'll want the bottles around. I would start having 4 on hand and go from there.
