Kalomira...question for anyone in the LI Greek Community

Do you know this girl at all? Kalomira?

She represented Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest last night and I really loved her Europoppy song. She is from Nassau County and I was just wondering if anyone knew of her. Long Island should be proud, her song came in third. (the UK came in 25th out of 26...uh oh)

Here is a link to her great performance..

Yes I know her (not personally but I know of her) and I watched her perform yesterday. She did an AMAZING job!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon but I think the choreography could have been better.
She has come such a long way and I wish all the best for her.

Yay! I am so glad you responded. Greece should have won, they had the best pop song and the best performance. But politics take over once again. I suppose then you will know this one also...Antique - I'd die for you
Greece always has fantastic entries.

I went to high school with her (she's a few years younger) and I directed her in a few high school musicals. Was a very talented singer back in middle/high school and such a nice/sweet girl. Glad she is doing well!!

I know, I know. I think they took the "My Lovely Horse" route, ie, Ireland don't want to pay for it should they win, so they give Europe a crappy song. Apparently though, Dustin the Turkey is on TV in Ireland and is done by the people who did Zig and Zag (if you remember them on the Big Breakfast)

Anyway, it was humourous, but terrible.

Oh No! She was awful! She didn't move one inch. It was uncomfortable to watch. IMO Bosnia & Herzogovina was the best entry (as was France...but I just like Sebastian Tellier)

Where do you watch it in the states? I was wondering about this...

she is BLIND so she can't move much while she is singing , it's hard for her to sing and dance at the same time, she has a great voice, I mean I have seen her much better performances live, but she was really not bad at all at Eurovision, 11th place isn't really that bad when you have so many people competing.

lol. I wasn't expecting her to do a dance routine, I was just saying that she stood like a statue!!! It wasn't my cup of tea, like I said, Bosnia & Herzogovina was more my thing. Where did you watch Eurovision??

eta...I had high hopes for Georgia, last years entry was amazing for me.

The Greek girl was great although I kept thinking she was straight out of one of the P'Diddy reality shows..like a Pussycat Doll or something.

OH OK I guess I misunderstood what you said, sorry, and yes I agree last year's performer was much better, I watch it on one of the Georgian or Russian websites or my brother downloads the shows for me and emails me the files.
