Poll: BCP & Pregnancy
I am thinking of coming of BCP in the next six months but am just curious--how long did it take everyone to get pregnant once they stopped BCP.

i came off BCP in the middle of september and my cycles "regulated" right away - that is to say, they went back to being short cycles which is the reason i went on BCP in the first place 9 years ago. we started TTC right away.
because my cycles were short, my LP (luteal phase) was also short, so i began taking b-complex vitamins to lengthen my LP towards the beginning of november. i got my BFP at the end of december.
if i had to do it over again, i would have come off BCP earlier so i could see what my cycles were like before TTC.

I did go to the gyno but for my 6 month checkup. I am probably not going to come off until I go back in Oct.
Good luck--I have been snooping on the other boards...I hope this is your month!!!!

Oooh it would be fun to be pregnant together but gosh I don't want to wait another 6 months...lol. Good luck for whenever you decide!!  Yoga tonight?

I went off in Sept and it took 48 days to get AF that first time. The rest of my cycles (all 2 of them) were about 35 days. I didn't start using OPK's until December and got pregnant in January, my second month using the OPK's.

I have PCOS so I always thought it would be difficult to get PG. I anticipated this and went off the pill 6 months before I wanted to start trying b/c I thought I would have to go to a RE. Since a lot of drs. told me that I couldn't get pg, we didn't use protection. I went off the pill on 10/31. 12/3 I got my period for 1 day and then I got a BFP 1/2.

This month is 20 months that I have been off BCPs. I got pregnant last month after my first IVF, but miscarried.

My friend got pregnant 2 months after she went off the pill, but she did get pregnant unplanned (it only took "one" time!).

I came off the pill in October knowing that we wanted to TTC in January. First cycle off was about 35 days, second was around 28, but it wasn't until the third that I felt everything came together in terms of CM and temp shift, etc. Part of me wishes I could've seen that cycle through to the end to check out my luteal phase and everything - but, by then I was already pregnant It was our first month actually TTC.
I woudl definitely recommend about 2 or 3 cycles off before you start to TTC.

I got preggo the 1st mo after coming off BCP. Now, its TTCing for baby #2 thats the problem for me!! I have PCOS.

December was my last month using BC, Jan. we used condoms and in Feb we started TTC. I got PG during my March cycle.
