I'm sorry you feel this way and I'm surprised that you'd let this one incident turn you away from the boards.
I think that maybe you tend to take things to heart, when people are simply giving the other side of things. Things that work for you might not work for other people, so people don't want other posters coming on and seeing JUST your opinion/experiences and taking them as fact. I think it's great that we have the opportunity to hear so many different experiences and opinions.

and to tell someone that trusts their doctor, "Run, dont walk away from your doctor" is downright rude

I honestly think that you're interpreting this the wrong way.
I don't think it's "rude" to say that, I think that it's just more of a warning -- telling you to be careful!

i think it is rude and insensitive to tell that to a woman that has intrusted herself to a particular doctor
my ob/gyn is great, has used clomid herself and I TRUST HER
i didnt advertise for her, i wasnt telling people to run and see her

I need to say this...these women who are giving you advice are VERY knowledgable, they have been there, done that so to say......
I am sorry you feel badly but from an outsider point of view, no one was attacking you
best of luck....and PLEASE do not put 100% faith in doctors, they are human, and make mistakes....do your own research as well

This is going to be my last post on this topic, because it's just counterproductive to this board.
However, there was not one hurtful thing said on yesterday's post about Clomid. It was a handful of us from the IF board sharing what we've learned and have experienced over the months/years, that we've been trying to get pregnant so that other's would not make the same mistakes we made. We are only trying to educate. Noone was attacked, noone said anything nasty. It's just frustrating to us when we see doctors so haphadzardly prescribing a strong fertility drug such as Clomid like it's an asprin or something. Especially because there is a specific amount of time you can be on Clomid in a LIFETIME.

understood, but i didnt ask for advice
i merely answered a question
what upset me is this
people responded to my posts by yelling "THIS IS NOT TRUE"
and things of that nature, i did not do that to anyone that said "you must go to an RE"
i didnt respond by saying "NO, NO RE!!"
this is the difference

I'm chiming in here for the first time. I read everything and this is how I see it and how I feel about it if you care.
This is a highly sensitive topic. Some of the ladies here have been through the most grueling (sp) regimen trying to get pregnant or trying to hold a pregnancy. It's heartbreaking for all.
I am just taking the plunge with this and I reached out to the ladies here first, before I talked to my obgyn. They all recommended I see an RE because of my age..not to waste time. I reluctantly agreed.
Then I found out my cousin (same age) was pregnant and had to do IVF (3 cycles) to get there. Different case for her but what she told me and what her experiences taught me was invaluable. No doctor was going to give it to me that way..with love and understanding and knowing me. This put me in a tailspin. I did a ton of research online and got more advice from the ladies here and that lead me to cancel one appt and book another.
I will even go see more than one doctor because I want to make sure I don't waste a single second.
I guess what I'm saying is that although the way we come across online may not be the most comforting, we are all in the same exact boat. This website is very powerful and I have seen it first hand in many aspects of my life. I'm so very thankful for the advice I get here because it gives me more information when I do see the professionals I understand how it relates to my specific situation.
My eyes are wide open about this journey and I have no pre-conceived notions about how hard it could be to get pregnant. I'm prepared for the emotional and physical aspects but I will not go into this blindly. The best I can do for myself is learn everything I can, be prepared and educated and use all of that information to get "knocked up"!
Lastly, thank you to all who have given me their "two cents"..you have no idea how much I appreciate you and the information.

I really think you're getting way too defensive and caught up in the fact that you think people were attacking you - the fact is, it wasn't about you at all! You gave your advice and your experience, and others, with some more experience in this department, gave their advice and their experience. And mind you, most of us used Caps, not to scream at you, but to make emphasis on our points.
Yes, Clomid may have worked for you or people you know, but that doesn't paint the whole picture for people who may be embarking on this very strong fertility drug. While it may work for some, for others it has drastic side effects, and precarious results. I know for myself, I wanted to know EVERYTHING, the good, the bad, the ugly, before taking it.
The end purpose and goal being to provide as much information to the poster, on both the cons AND the pros, so she can make an informed decision. Outlining the cons, in response to some of your posts, is not at all a direct attack on you - I hope you can take a step back and see that.

I read yesterdays post and I do believe you became extremely defensive right off the bat, I really feel you took peoples responses regarding SA way too seriously in the beginning of the thread...TTC is a stressful process especially if you have been at it for a while, I know I have...I really dont feel like anyone was attacking you, maybe you can take a break and return, I know sometimes i wont view the TTC board because it can stress me out...I will pray for you ...good luck

it is just so annoying and frustrating when everyone keeps saying that i gave advice
i did NOT give advice
all i did was say what happened with me
people keep saying im being defensive, but no one is stepping back to see how many of the responses were worded and i just dont have time for this
between house hunting, my job (which is very stressful) and TTC, i just cant deal with the ridicule and worry about it
