Who makes the decisions regarding DC? (with poll)

I was realizing the other day that I make EVERY decision regarding DS - when he's ready for the next stage food, when his crib needed to be lowered, when he needs a new size diaper, what his daycare hours are, etc.

Is it just a mommy thing? Or am I a control freak?

Or a little of both.

I voted together but its really more like 70% me and 30% DH.

I am a control freak - and DH would really have no clue unless I told him. Not his fault - he just wouldn't. I do think it's a mommy thing though.

I have a cousin though - whose husband basically does all of the mommy things -- it's very strange to me.

Normally I make a suggestion and if he disagrees we will talk about it then make a decision. So in a way I do, but I talk it over with him first.

I would say all me. But in fairness, he is easy going and never picks out a movie or what we should eat. He's a very "whatever you want" type.

I almost voted DH but I voted together because I make some decisions
but DH is the one who says no sleepovers and when its time to brush their teeth and bathe etc
depending on what we are doing we each have different things we do with the kids

I do, but I do ask DH for his opinion in most cases. He has two sons from a previous marriage, so sometimes I'm asking for his BTDT value! Important things - definitely decisions are made together, but everyday things are mostly me.

I make the every day decisions - what daycare, bedtimes, after-school activities, etc. but run the important stuff past DH.

We have vehemently disagreed about one issue in the past, but in general are on the same page.

I do the day to day stuff - daycare, doctors, etc.

Any kind of big decision we discuss.

I make all the decsions re the children and dh is fine with that. When he is with the children I will give him a run down on what needs to be done at what time and he does it, no questions asked. However if something really important would come up I would probably discuss it with him. Overall he knows I only do whats best for the children so he's comfy with me making the descions. I don't know but it works for us

I would say both but I wish it was just me. I do all her shopping, plan her meals, decide when she needs new clothes, new size dipes, etc. But DH loves to tell me what NOT to do- don't do that with her, or this. It drives me nuts since I do all her planning!

I voted "Other".

A lot of our decisions regarding our DD has been made by her progression that both DH and I witness. We try and do "firsts" together, like foods and such, but for things like switching to larger diapers, I'm obviously more aware of DD's growth, so I hardly consider upsizing a decision, but more of a necessity.

Some decisions/things have happened b/c my MIL or mom were watching DD and took matters into their own hands. I'm pretty laid back and trust them, and their choices have always benefited me.

I have to say that most of our decisions have truly been dictated by our DD's cues.

We usually make them togehter, DH is just an active part of thier lives as I am.

I'd say it's pretty much 50/50. I do research things and tell DH about them, but he's very proud of the fact that he's so involved & hands on. So maybe it's like 40him/60 me, but it's pretty darn even.

Me. I run most things past DH but ultimately i make all the decisions. he is okay with is as he knows I research everything and try to make the right decisions.

Well i make all of the day to day decisions.

But like big decisions on when we whould start him in daycare, how much we should save for him for school, what things we want my Mother and MIL to teach him during the day are made by the both of us.

If it comes to big decisions, it is definetely together. But on smaller things, like food and diapers and such, its me.

Most things is DW, but I am definitely involved in a lot of things. I'm usually the primary decider for safety-related stuff (car seats, toys, etc). Anything of significance is both of us.
