Why the F do I bother???!!!
Can someone PLEASE tell me WHY I bother planning dinner to be ready for when DH says he's leaving work (at 6) and then he calls NOW to say he's FINALLY leaving!!!

I remember once when I was little my mom made dinner and when dad came home he said he already ate at his mom's house... so my mom got all ****** off and through it in the garbage! needless to say he never did that again

I remember when I was pregnant...I could eat mine and my DH's plate of food....hey that's not a bad idea....

This happens alot with Fh & I
Rick is in Construction and this happens anywhere from 2-3x's a week!!!!
All the time I end up waiting because it's really the only Us time we have everyday

I used to go through this a lot. And it would piss me off after making an effort to make a nice dinner. But I've learned to either get over it, or eat without him.
I know he would rather leave work on time, but sometimes it just isn't possible. I would eat and let him heat it up when he gets home.

That has happpened a lot with us. It really bothers me, but I learned to either wait awhile for him, or if I'm really hungry, eat without him. Unfortunately, sometimes they can't help but get held up and then they lose track of time. It drives me nuts!

I can relate. . but to your Dhs. I'm the one who gets home at all different times. I tell DH to eat without me, b/c I can't really controll it--things always come up at the end of the day & then I have an hour + commute on top of that,
Unless I am working past 8, he usually just snacks & we cook when I get home, or if I call from the train , he starts it a little before I get home.
