Please don't flame me, I am just asking

did anyone have a non-alcoholic beer during their pregnancy to satisfy a craving for beer? And if yes, did it work?

I know their is less than 0.5% alcohol in non-alcoholic beer. That's why I am hestitant, because their is alcohol present.

I am so craving a coors light on tap!

It's weird I was such a huge wine drinker, but I don't crave that, I am craving a nice cold beer.

Oh yeah, I had O'Douls on like 3-4 occasions--I felt like I was "part of the crowd," ya know? Chat Icon I felt like I was getting away with something! Chat Icon However, I also had an occasional glass of wine (also maybe 3-4 times) during my pregnancies as well--so I'm pretty relaxed about that kind of thing.

with my first i did not touch anything. with this one my ob said i can have a 1/2 glass to glass of wine or beer once a week. i think since i found out i was preggo ive had an equivalent to 1/2 a glass which is sipping dh's wine every now and then. a sip here and there is not bad but every day or every other day is a no no. i have a wedding this weekend and think i will have a couple sips but dont abuse it.

Same here!

I craved beer and lobster when I was pregnant with DD #1. I don't think there is anything wrong with a non alcholic beer - very occassionally. Chat Icon

I didn't do it, but a non-alcoholic beer shouldn't be the end of the world.

I have had no craving for anything with alcohol, so for me it is not worth it but I do not think it is soooooo terrible.

Re: Please don't flame me, I am just asking

there's a better non-alcoholic beer than O'Douls. Its Clausthaler. I had it once while preggo last time.

Though if you like Coors Lite (I don't) maybe O'Douls is better.

Honestly, have a beer, it will be fine...one will not hurt.

If you want one, have one. My Dr says the odd glass of wine is OK. I have had a couple of O'Douls, they're OK but make me very gassy Chat Icon

I had a non alcoholic beer at the beginning of my pregnancy to throw my friends off. the % is so small, I dont think it would do any harm!

I think this board is pretty mixed on this topic.

Ask your doctor.

Personally, I believe if you want it, have it. Everything in moderation.

BUT, if you know that if you have one, the craving will turn into two and then three and you won't be able to stop it, I wouldn't have one. If you know you can stop at half or even one, have it.

I had a sip of beer this weekend (for the first time while preggo) - it tasted so good. I think an occassional non-alcoholic beer would be okay, but I would check with your dr.

A friend of mine only craved beer during her pregnancy so once a week she would have one - and not non-alcoholic either. Her son is grown now and he is fine.

I think a non-alcoholic beer once in a while is harmless.

I don't think there is anything wrong with an occasional drink.
O'Douls is even less of a big deal.
If I wanted to, I wouldn't hesitate to have a half glass of wine or a Guinness occasionally.
But I wouldn't in my first trimester.

I was the same way...I was a huge wine drinker before the pregnancy but the thought totally turned me off while I was pregnant. I also drank O'Doul's occasionally just to feel like I was having a drink. I also had a few beers like 2-3 towards the last few weeks of my pregnancy.
