$1235/month (w/ $20/month pet rent) in a suburb of DC - 1 br w/ an eat in kitchen and dining room.
We get a 5% discount on rent though since I'm a teacher.

ok
1.)we rent right now and we pay $800 for a one bedroom (from dh's aunt)
2.) BUT we are now looking for a house and its SOOOOOOOOOOOO SCARY how much houses are going for in queens
3.) BUT im SOOOOOOOO happy to know that everyone else's mortgage is what we will probably have to pay.... $3000!@#@#%#&

with taxes about $3300 per month for a 3 bedroom colonial in Smithtown. Our taxes are pretty high, which kind of stinks.

This gets you 1100sq ft upstairs with 3 bedrooms and 1 upstairs bath. The basement is not done and has laundry and another bathroom. There are pics in my album. A 0.2 acre fenced back yard and a detached 1car garage. One of the nicest school districts around and a "bedroom" community

We pay about 1900.00 a month for a 2bd 1bath house in selden, that needed to be totally updated. And we bought in '04. This includes mtge, ins, and taxes.
