I totally agree with this. It is really cruel to not get your dog fixed if you are not breeding it. The dog did not know any better. If the parents want the responsibility of a pet, they should learn how to take care of it. Dogs who are not being bred and not fixed can get very viscious.

Something doesn't ring right about this story....and I'm sorry but people fix your pets!!!! Unless you are a reputable certified breeder there is no excuse for not fixing your pets. This is torture for them....they go into heat and suffer.

1) the baby did not have any clothes on (said so in the video report on the site). To me the story sounds very suspicious and I am actually glad to hear they are investigating the mom. Something does not add up. You left a child naked, and unattended w/ a dog? I just don't get it.
2) While I am not a huge fan of pit bulls, I don't think the dog should be put down for this. I don't think this is the same as a dog attacking someone (ie biting, mauling). Dogs hump, and this child was left naked w/ the dog for some unknown reason.
The story the mom gave does not make sense. I think the dog deserves a good home, and that poor child needs to be protected. If the mom is not doing the right thing, which I have a strong feeling is the case, that poor child deserves to get the help he needs and also go to loving home. They are bringing in a behaviorist for the dog, if he is adoptable they will say so. I am sure he is.

I know that I could def. trust Casey around a baby but esp when the baby is small we will have to watch her only because of her size and goofiness..she gets carried away!

Disgusting, horrible story.
I don't think it's a far-fetched as everyone else.
For everyone pointing out that the 2 year old was naked, some parents start potty training their kids. One technique is to let your kids run around naked without a diaper in the summer months & then they don't get the absorbent diaper that they're used to from birth.
The dog & the toddler were attached - the dog was inside until the neighbors could get him out. The neighbors saw it.
As for the dog - knowing where to put it - dogs figure it out with other dogs. It's instinct. Pure instinct.
Parents' fault completely. Dog should have been neutered & NEVER left alone with a child.

Oh god, the visual I got is GROSS! This kid had to have been naked for the dog to do that.....and I'm sure a 2 year old did not take his/her clothes off while being left alone for only a few minutes.....so that leads me to ask, what idiot parent would leave a naked kid alone with a dog???????
The dog is not to blame what-so0ever...its an animal with animal instincts. I blame the idiotic parent!

Dogs derive no sexual gratification from sex and merely do it as a form of procreation which needs to be prompted by a female dog in heat's scent. Dogs are not sexual creatures and so there would have to be some sort of scent on her to provoke the dog. Even when a dog humps one's leg, which is done by both male and female dogs as well as dogs that are intact and not intact, there is no attempt by the dog's boy parts to penetrate. There is something else going on.

What is wrong with people? Do we need to hear any more stories about pitbulls attacking babies?? I think people are out of their minds for owning these dogs with a baby in the house. They are known to get viscious and nasty in a second (same for other breeds of dogs) and I don't care how loving or gentle it can seem...the two don't mix.
This story is shocking and disgusting. The poor little boy. Ugh. That mother should feel ashamed...

i htink this is incredibly sad, that poor childs insides must be a mess,i cant imagine the pain.
the reason why the dog couldn't be seperated is NOT because it was agressive, but because a dogs penis gets enlarged when inside. (poor child) and it can't slip out until the dog is relaxed and all. (i'm sure people screaming and hitting the dog only complicated the situation further and prolonged the detachment)
i hope this dog gets FIXED and finds a good home. and the child gets better soon.
i dont like that htey called this a pitbull "attacking" a 2 year old, as it was not. people need to realize animals are animals.
sad story all around.
not only that.. and this is awful to even think about, but a dog's penis has these spikey things on it specifically to remain inside the female until he's done....so she cannot get away...

I feel terrible that the child had to go through this.
I do have to say, WT.F are these IDIOT parents thinking by leaving their toddler alone with an animal? I know this may be controversial, but I don't think the dog is at fault, nor do I think the animal should be punished in any way. It's a DOG!!! PARENTS should have brains enough not to do such a STUPID thing! I don't care HOW "nice" your pet is, or what a loving nature it has. I guess I am an idiot because I do leave my dog alone with Andrew. When I am upstairs the dog and Andrew have free run. And even after hearing this story will still let them both have free run upstairs.

As a mother of 3, I can say its not so easy to never have your child alone with your pet. Once your child is walking around the house on their own, what are you gonna do follow them all over the house? But I do believe with a big dog, you have to be extra careful because you never know what might set an animal off, and a large dog can do alot of damage to a child!

I totally agree here...
This is shocking to me too! My only thought was this poor child, and poor mother. Anyone who has children knows your kid can be totally clothed one minute and the next have everything off including a diaper. Some people also have their children naked for potty training(as someone mentioned) and to clear up diaper rash. No matter what the reason, I don't think anyone in their right mind would ever think their dog, or anyone elses for that matter would do something like this!
