For those with DC who have reflux

If you have them sleeping on an incline - how do you do it? I have been looking for a wedge to use, but cant seem to find one.

DD is 4 1/2 months and still sleeping in our room in an Pack and Play. She has stopped breathing twice in the middle of the night and the doctors think that it is from Reflux. She just started on Zantac, but the dr said to sleep her on an incline as well.

Re: For those with DC who have reflux

To give you hope---My daughter is now 8 months old and her reflux has gotten but better.
I actually had her sleep in hercar seat for the first couple of months. If you dont want to do that try rolling up a towel and placing it under the matteress. You don;t want it too high otherwise she could roll down. I hope this helps you. It is difficult when they have reflux. Did you try rice cereal in the bottle yet? Thats what we were told to do and that helped but it wasn't until I started food that she got ALOT better!!!

Good Luck -keepme posted!!

Re: For those with DC who have reflux

we used the crib wedge and then put a towel underneath it to incline it even further. the crib was was from BRU.

hannah slept in her bouncer chair for the first 2-3 months in her crib due to reflux. it was a little bit roomier than her car seat.

once she transitioned to the crib we also placed her on her left side. there are alot of studies on reflux that suggest that sleeping on the left side is just as good as sleeping on their bellies. hannah didnt sleep on her belly until last month.

hope that helped!

We were told by the pediatrician to put the actual mattress on an incline - there are settings for infants and toddler, so put the head of the bed in the infant slots and the foot in the toddler setting. IT worked really well until DC started becoming more active and rolled downChat Icon
