when do you get Sono's?

I see all these posts and so many of my friends get so many more I'm so jealous

my ob does
9 weeks
12 weeks
20 weeks
36 weeks

unless there is an issue I don't get anymore

my good friends ob is doing a 32 week growth (weight only) one and a 36 week.

I had one at 7,5 weeks to confirm due date, then 12 weeks and i only get ONE more at 20 unless there are issues.

I wish i got more too! But my friend just gifted me a 3D/4D session so I'm saving it for my third trimester

In my last pregnancy, I got

6 weeks
7 weeks
8 weeks
9 weeks
10 weeks

Those were from the RE.

Then from the ob/gyn I got 12 weeks, 16 weeks (only because DH was in the hospital and missed the 12 week), 20 weeks. I don't think I had another one besides quick ones later on in the office.

This time around I am pregnant with twins so it's been very different. I had sonos at 6, 7, 8, 9 weeks with the RE again. Then, so far I have had a short sono every ob/gyn appointment to check the HBs (it gets really confusing with the doppler!) which has been 12 weeks, 16 weeks, and I have another at 19 weeks. Then I have also been to the radiology department for more in depth sonos - but that is because I have a SCH. So far I have had 2 of those appointments (almost 14 weeks, 17 weeks) and I have one this week (almost 19 weeks).

I got one at 8 weeks and I don't think my next one is until 20 weeks. I had an obgyn appt last night and the dr. said on the next appt. she would use the doppler to hear the heartbeat (we saw it on the 8 week sono). And then the nurse said that they'll set me up for the 20 week sono at that appt. I *thought* I got another sono at 12 weeks, but it didn't even occur to me to ask last night (we were in there for about an hour and I wanted to get the heck out).

My midwives only do the 20 week sono and they give you the option of having the 12 week scan. I also got one at 8 weeks because of a bleeding episode.

This pregnancy is pretty much the same except for a few extra sonos in the beginning because we were seeing an RE.

For my first pregnancy (which ended in a m/c) my OB had told me 8 weeks, 20 weeks and that would be it.

For my DD, because I had a m/c before her, they did 7, 9, 11 and 20.

For my third pregnancy (which also ended in a m/c), they said they'd wait until 8 weeks then 20 because one m/c didn't indicate any issues.

For this pregnancy I was at an RE, so I had 6.5 and 8.5 there. Then switched back to OB and got one at 9. Next one isn't until 20 and if all is okay, that will be it.

I'm getting them every 3 to 4 weeks but I have pre via and at risk for uterine rupture....normally at regular OB there's the 12 week , 20 week and 36

I get them at every appt (and did when I was pregnant w/ the boys). I have a SCH so I am bleeding daily and the dr wants to keep checking on it. If there wasn't a medical reason, my insurance would only pay for 3 (12 weeks, 20 and 36).

every visit! This office (different from my last two pregnancies) like to be extra cautious apparently!

With my DS, I got sonos at:

7 weeks
11 weeks
12 week NT at the hospital
16 weeks
20 week Level II at the hospital

Then I think one or two more at my regular visits. I delivered at 31w6d so I never had a growth sono etc.

With this pregnancy, I've had:
6 weeks
10 weeks
will have one at 12 weeks (NT scan) and 20 weeks (Level II).
Not sure after that.

ETA: The sonos at my doctor's offices are SUPER quick sonos, like 1 minute long. Just enough to check the baby, take measurements. Done. The ones at the hospital were the in depth ones.
