progesterone

Hi, I'm b/w four and five weeks. ANYONE KNOW MUCH ABOUT PROGESTERONE???
1st test 4/18-Prog.- 32.8, Beta- 165
2nd test 4/20-Prog. -31.1 , Beta 492
3rd test 4/27- Prog. 22.1, Beta 4670

The nurse says these are great numbers to be in, and they don't like a progesterone level of less than 12.

Why is my progesterone level decreasing, I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks, due to low progesterone so this decrease makes me very nervous.

Anyone have a similar situation or advice?

Why aren't they putting you on a progesterone supplement?? I was put on a suppository when my levels were low following a mc. I would call and ask to be put on a supplement. Good Luck

Mine dropped as well, but leveled off at around 18 or so. They told me I don't need progesterone supplements as long as I'm above 10.

Make sure they continue to monitor you if they aren't going to give you the supplements as a precautionary.Chat Icon

Me RE once told me that anything above 20 signified a healthy pregnancy. I would be concerned with my level dropping also. Have you spoken to your doctor and asked about progesterone supplements, given your hisotry of M/C/ Good Luck.

Re: progesterone

My levels dropped too - they put me on progesterone suppositories and monitored me every 2 weeks until the end of my 1st trimester. Now I am almost at my 36th week.

Did they doctor say they were going to do anything about the low progesterone?

Re: progesterone

My RE told me that as long as your progesterone is above 12 not to worry. It starts off high and drops as your pregnancy continues. I asked because my numbers where dropping at every blood appointment and when I M/C'd I thought this could have been a reason. She said once you see a heartbeat and the pregnancy keeps progressing the baby doesn't take it from you anymore.
