Re: Thanks for moving it!!!! X-Post - Afraid of flying...

My DH is petrified to fly. I was ready to book a honeymoon that we could drive to. But he spoke with his doctor and they gave him something to relax him. Worked like a charm. He was fine for the 3-4 hour flight to the bahamas.

I also recommend JetBlue. The tv are so distracting that you don't think about the fact that you are flying. Plus, the extra leg room is more comfortable.

If you plan on getting a RX, test it out first to make sure it will work. DH had to modify the dosage to get him relaxed enough for the flight.

Thank you so much. I wonder if JetBlue flies to Aruba.

I second JetBlue

Why are you afraid? Have you never flown? My parents had us flying VERY early so it is second nature to us. We are taking DS to Florida at 3 months old.

If it is REALLY bad then maybe your doctor can prescribe Xanax or something.

I have flown my whole life but have become more and more scared after several awful flights. Chat Icon

This is exactly what happened with DH. He flew all the time when he was younger, he even went to Europe as a teenager. He started developing a fear after several horrible flights with really bad turbulance.Chat Icon

Just about any Dr. will give you a script for a few Xanax.
DH hates to fly- he takes Xanax evry time.

Re: X-Post - Afraid of flying...

My MIL was deathly afraid of flying and she took a fear of flying course out of Heathrow airport (right, I know, can't help you) but they do a section on how planes work, how they fly, whey they don't just fall out of the sky (things like that) and then they board a plane and go on a 45 minute flight around the London area. She was cured and now loves travelling. She really enjoys flying and she is a person who is scared of everything....

Look it up, surely one goes out of JFK on a regular basis!

Re: X-Post - Afraid of flying...

We made 2 emergency landings on our way to Hawaii for our honeymoon. Both times we lost cabin pressure and plummeted thousands of feet. My DH slept during the whole thing while I made the sign of the cross and prayed. I am terrified to get back in another plane and he is fine with it.
