WWYD....Telling people you're pregnant....
Im am newly preggo. Havent even gone to the doctor yet. My appointment is 9/18 at which time I will be 8 weeks.
So here is my situation....next weekend (Labor Day), we are going to a BBQ in Connecticut to see DH's relatives. We dont see them that often and the next time we will see them is Thanksgiving (after seeing them next weekend, of course). I want to put a shirt on DD say that she will be a big sister to see how they react but it might be too early to tell them. KWIM? But if I miss this opportunity then I will probably end up telling them on the phone which is not as fun as putting that shirt on DD to see everyone's reaction.
DH doesnt have parents anymore they both passed away a few years ago so this is his only family left. I want to make it special but DH might think its too early.
WWYD??? Should I wait or tell them this early.

I love the idea, I like its so cute. Personally I would do it, but you have to make sure both you and DH are comfortable with it.

I think there are good reasons to tell, but you must be ready to accept the slight possibility that it was too early to know how things will go. But the odds are, all will be fine. Only you can decide.

That's what we did- but I had a loss before Grace and I did not want to go through the pain of untelling if it happened again.

We told people the day after we found out. Some people saw my son in his shirt, and for others we either emailed them a pic, or sent them a text message with his pic. But you have to do whatever you guys are most comfortable with!

It's a personal decision to wait - and to also tell right away.
We told everyone as soon as we found out. Our thoughts behind it were - if god forbid something were to happen we would need our families to lean on anyway.
I say tell them in person. There's nothing like seeing the joy on their faces!

God i hate doctors that make you wait till 8 weeks. I was in there at 5 weeks the first day i got the BFP and continued to go until 8 weeks to make sure everything was well.
I would do it too... i think it is a great idea...it will be so much more special then the phone.

Thats what we did. I wouldn't want to risk having to "untell" everyone if something went wrong.

It's a very personal decision to decide when to tell people. Do what's best for you and your dh.
What "they" typically say is, tell as many people about the pregnancy early on as you'd like, but be prepared to tell these same people g-d forbid there is bad news.
