WWYD? Sick kid
Background... DS has ear tubes. We went to the ped about a week ago for a check up. She said one tube is out and laying in the ear canal and the other one is clogged. She says, No emergency just make an appointment with the ENT. I did. For this Thursday.
Fast foward to Christmas morning and DS is crying and crying and screaming. Then the crying stopped and I noticed that the clogged tube is sitting outside his ear and there is tons of fluid coming out. I think that he was in pain from the fluid and pressure building up behind the clogged tube and when the pressure got to be too much it just burst out the tube and he felt a lot of relief.
I called the ENT emergency number and got a dr. that got us an Rx for antibiotic drops and started using them right away. He was totally fine otherwise and the dr. didn't seem to think it was too bad. He said he should be better quickly. The dr. said that if the fluid didn't start coming out in a few days to call them and come in since his ears would probably need to be suctioned.. but, again, he really didn't think that would happen.
We decided to go the kids play we had tickets for last night and lunch with my brothers in the city since they live in tx and we only see them once a year if that. So, on the train home last night he spikes 103.2. I already feel like I should call CPS on myself for taking him to the city but, honestly he was totally fine all day. :(... He has Just a low fever this morning but, the fluid is still coming and he's a little clingy.
We are dug out and our road is plowed. Would you call the dr. and try to get in later today? Do you think they are even open? Do you think they are going to think I am the worst Mom ever for trying to take my kid out in this? Would you just wait until tomorrow? He is sleeping okay since the fluid is draining and there is no pressure. So I would imagine he is not in too much pain but, everytime I even graze his ear with a tissue he freaks out!

I would call dr and tell him everything...see what he says.
They are paid a lot, I put all my worries onto them and let them figure it out.

Okay.. took your advice.. the office is closed
I guess I should call the emergency line?? I hate doing that! I feel like such a pest!
ETA: We decided to just chill out and wait for tomorrow. It's not an emergency. I don't want to put him in the car and he is just sick... It's not like he's in horrible pain with a 105 fever or something crazy like that. We'll just wait it out and call first thing in the AM
