Would you return something to a dollar store?
I was in Dollar Tree the other day and a woman there was trying to return a night light she had bought. She didn't have a receipt and the guy wouldn't take it back. She then exchanged it for a pack of gum. I thought it was interesting because I would never think to bring something back. If I didn't want it, I'd probably just throw it out or something. I don't think it would even be worth the trip. Just thought it was interesting. Would you return something to the dollar store?

I did when I had to return 18 baskets I didn't use for my DD's bday. They made me use the $18 credit on the spot so I was wandering around grabbing paper plates, a few balloons for my son, some foam paintbrushes, and finally $10 worth of peanutbutter cups - it was a PITA. For a single $1 item, probably not. Maybe she worked very close and was right there often.

if I was going there to buy more items I would exchange it for something I needed
I have no shame returning anything- even if it is a dollar - I get annoyed at myself seeing something sitting there that I know I am not going to use
I return stuff to Walmart all the time, get a gift card and use it during that trip
but I would not make a special trip for it- my car uses more then $1 worth of gas just to start up

Only if it were multiple items would I return it. Otherwise, you probably spend more in gas getting there.

only if i had a bunch of something, or maybe if i worked like right next door to the dollar store or something... but to me, i don't think a dollar would be worth it.
