Would you choose Prime or Tellers, for a first timer?
Prime or Tellers -
Which one would you suggest and why, since we have never been to both. Thinking about birthday or anniversary dinner.
Also recommend a dish that you REALLY liked at either.

I've been to both and found the food at Tellers to be much better. The atmosphere is nice at both places but different. I would go with Tellers.

I would definitely pick Tellers over Prime if you were looking for a true Steak house.
I wasn't impressed with Prime. I did go within the first month of opening and plan on trying it again to give them the benefit.

Here is one vote for Prime. We found the atmosphere was more beautiful, the food better (and more interesting and diverse menu), and the service was more attentive. I was only at each place once though so it could just be my experience. If you go to Tellers, you may want to request a table in the main dining room instead of hidden upstairs in the corner alone (unless you like that sort of thing). :)

Different menus. Tellers is a steakhouse and Prime's menu is a bit more eclectic.
I haven't been to Tellers yet, but if you're into sushi, definitely check out Prime!

I have only been to Tellers and it was very nice. I have also heard great things about 21 Main in Sayville
