Would love your opinion... Iui related: UPDATE
I would like to tell my story and see if anyone has suggestions as to what went wrong. I just had a failed iui. It took place at LI IVF Melville. Basically, I had an iui with frozen sperm from husband. My husband had to freeze sperm due to a med he takes that kills sperm. I got pregnant immediately with my first child using this method at a different clinic.
Anyway, this time I get there and they start thawing dh's sperm. After they start i am informed that my dh never signed a consent form. The sperm was frozen elsewhere a long time ago. So, I had to wait for him for three hours while the sperm was thawing. The lady who did the iui and manager were very angry with me. Every time i saw the woman who does the iui's she would roll her eyes at me and threaten to throw me out. It was the most uncomfortable, stressful experience ever. My dh could not get there any faster.
Anyway, this cycle was a negative. I am so upset. I wonder if it was because the sperm was thawing for too long. Also, has anyone ever had this type of experience with the Melville staff? Also, I was overconfident. During the two-week wait I continued my normal life filled with diet coke and running.
UPDATE:
I went back to the melville office for a HSG and everyone there was very nice and helpful. i think I just encountered a bad apple the first time I went.
Anyway, Kenigsberg said my uterus looks deformed. I did have a previous c-section, so it could possible be from that since I was obviously able to carry a baby to term. I really hope that he is being overly cautious. No one had ever said this to me before. I shall see.

IUI only has a certain success rate (20%) or so.
Everything may have gone ok.
Staff should have let you know about any consent issues prior to you arriving.

It's their fault the consent wasn't signed and you were not advised.....screw them. I left after feeling poorly treated. They give u no attention there as an Iui client.

I had 3 IUIs there and never felt like I was treated any less. Not trying to stick up for them just telling you my experience there. I do also go to the Melville office.
Like someone said the success rate is a lot lower depending what other issues you may or may not have. I'm not sure how long ago you had your first LO.
They should however have had you do the consent form before doing anything.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

That's ok. We all have different experiences. Mine was just very bad. Hoping next month will be better. Previously, I had iui's done by Drs. at another place. I thought my doctor at LI IVF was very smart. He just doesn't do the iui's. I still have to get a second hsg. My other was a couple years ago. The doctor said it increases your chances slightly. This is so tough.

I feel for you, the office I went to is very bad at getting the doc signed in advance in fact they usually do it last minute, rush you to read everything and they still screw it up. They once had me sign my doc after they started the IV and was rolling me into the OR, the Dr was pissed bc they left many papers out. They knew days in advance, but it never mattered, they never had it together.
as far as IUI, my office delayed the procedure for me as well and I was worried the sperm was sitting in the warmer too long, I worried I ovulated and kept thinking they messed up the timing, its hard not to doubt everything. I don't know our office well, yet

I have never had a problem with any of the nurses or the staff at Melville they are all super sweet. I dont love my dr but I decided to stay there because its convenient to my Job and so far I have only seen him once and spoken to him once since sept. The nurses do everything.
