Do you feel like it is getting harder the older they get?

I feel like now that Andrew is such a little man, I can't stand leaving himChat Icon

Work was easier when he was not really doing anything but now everyday is like torture.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I am sure I will feel this way when Mikayla gets older...I am just hoping that since she is so used to being with nana and pop-pop that it will not be a huge adjustment Chat Icon

Nope, I actually feel guilty that I don't have any guilt when I drop them off.

Re: Working Moms ? *If going back soon do not read*

It's definitely harder - in the beginning, in all honesty, I was looking forward to going back because I just couldn't take much more of her colic... it got better, but for the longest time, our role was primarily caretaker, with not much in return.

Now, though, she's such an hysterical, personality-filled, drama-divalicious little person. I absolutely adore the time I spend with her on the weekends, and I find myself constantly saying to her that she's so much fun to spend time with.

By the time Monday morning rolls around, I get a little teary-eyed that she's going to be playing with others for the week, and that I'll miss all those hysterical, touching moments.

But, at the same time, I try to remember that she's having SO much fun with all of her little friends - and doing so much more in camp than I could ever dream of for her. I mean, come on, the kid is learning yoga! Chat Icon In a way, I tell myself, she is sooooooo full of life and personality, due in large part, because of all her experiences at school and camp, and I'm happy to be able to give that to her...

I have to say, I enjoy seeing her happiness when she runs to her little friends in the morning. I love watching little Ava, her classmate, run over to her and say Bella's here and grab her hand.

I know she is happy and flourishing. I enjoy the time I have with her...It's the best of both worlds to me. Maybe because I have a slightly (although not lately) more flexible schedule of work....
I don't know...but it's OK.

I had a tough time of it before when it was all a blur and I was just trying to get through the week. Now she is my pal and we have "our" scehdules.

Yes, it is very tough. The ideal situation for me would be to work part time.Chat Icon

Yes and No... I know what you mean...

I think it's that as they get older, it's gets hard for different reasons. As they enter new stages in their development, it's almost like leaving them for the first time again because they are doing new things.

But it'll get easier again... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Working Moms ? *If going back soon do not read*

It's tough now with Nate bc he's more vocal. They started a new daycare last week so it's been rough dropping him off in the morning. He started his last daycare before he could really talk, so now in addition to the crying I heard "Mommy no lea (leave) me"

DH is dropping off this week bc I couldn't do it anymore.... DH said that Nate cried for a few min, but by the time he came out of Jayden's room he stopped crying.

I have to admit, that separating from him has really been easy - but I see how happy he is when I drop him off at daycare. They play with him so much and take such good care of him, I think it is a wonderful experience for him and he really seems to love it. I think thats what matters the most. If he were crying or miserable, I'd feel awful, but knowing he is having fun there makes my days so much better!!!

Um, I think it was easier when she was a screaming infant who didn't know any better when I left for work, definitely. But I also love my job and leave her with my husband, so it's hard to leave, but not nearly as hard as I ever thought it'd be.

I think it gets easier because they start having routines at daycare and don't want to miss a thing there.

I don't think its harder, I just think being a working mom is bloody hard work full stop.

My friend said to me today, and I agree with her completely...my whole life is an exercise in damage control. Work, life, marriage, house...just an exercise in how I can avoid f*cking it all up...

But, its my life and I wouldn't trade it with anyone else!!!
