Windy acres and other suggestions? Update!

We are thinking of going to Windy Acres to pick apples tomorrow. If for some reason it is crazy or there aren't a lot of apples is there someplace else near there we could check out. We have never gone apple picking before so this is our 1st time. I'm not familiar with the area so any suggestions would be really helpful!

****UPDATE*****
We went there today and had a great time. They have wagons you can borrow. We did well but a lot of the apples were gone. I would definitely go back next year. The girls got to ride a pony. They had a horse drawn hay ride but we didn't try it.

The girls loved the playground and spent a good deal of time there. There was a small corn maze that they walked through as well.

They also had roasted corn and a nice market.

We haven't been apple picking before but this was nice b.c they were young trees so the girls could easily help pick.

The only thing is I heard they were pack yesterday and by the time we got there around 12 there were still apples but not a lot left.

That is good to know b.c when I called them - they were telling me that the apples were good but didn't look great b.c of the May weather but that they still had some but next weekend probably won't have much left for a bit.

We were there today too! I didn't even know about the corn maze. Chat Icon

There weren't many apples--we only filled a bag, and I would have had a hard time finding enough good ones to fill a bin.

I wonder if you all were there when we were - we got there around 12 or so and were there until 230 or 3 - We picked first and then did pony rides then the girls ran around on the playground and did the maze for a while before we left. I know DD#1 was meeting a couple of the kids on the playground.

We were there today, from 11-1ish. It was great, had been for pumpkins before, not apples but it was nice, picked apples and then played for a while. Apples while not all beautiful, were great and two pies already made with them. Totally will go back again, maybe even for pumpkin picking. Totally adorable place and their donuts are awesome too!

We were there today too, we got there by 9:45 and left by just before noon...I told DD the pony rides didn't start until pumpkin picking season since they weren't set up by the time we left...oops Chat Icon We would have waited if we had known they were having them. Chat Icon

we got there around 11am stayed until almost 1-did the same picked first and played/pony ride after. the time we were there i thought the apple selection was decent considering that i have been hearing that most places this year have been awful.

So we were there at the same time! There were a lot of good ones on the ground that were in perfect condition too. We got a lot of good ones - but there were a lot that didn't look so great. The girls eat apples like they are going out of style - so it is nice to find good ones. They said they were really good.
